Well, one of them broke. A few inches down from the top of one of the sticks just snapped off while I was in the middle of a song. I may hit the pads kind of hard with the sticks, but I don't use excessive force with them. It's just how I feel comfortable playing. A friend of mine who knows about drums says that real sticks wouldn't break so easily, and that I should go to Guitar Center and buy a real pair. I followed his advice and went their and browsed the selection. Theres a lot of different kind of sticks, all specially designed for different styles of playing. I went for sticks that were pretty thick, but not unwieldy, so I think I'll be using these for a while. I told the guy working there about my situation, and he told me that a lot of people were replacing their sticks for Rock Band. I never saw a post for broken sticks in here, so I thought I'd post one.

So I guess the point of my story is that, the drumsticks that came with RB are eventually going to break too. Is there anything left to malfunction with this set? Is the disc going to burst into flames while I'm playing? The only thing I can be happy with with this set is that the game itself fulfilled all my hopes of what it would be, and more, and my drums are perfect, not a single flaw with them. The pedal is a different story though, because my second set is about to break.

... Seriously? Are you really saying that a broken drumstick is a malfunction in a product?

you werent the douche on the other forums (somewhere. forget..) that was complaining that your sticks broke and EA would not replace them, huh? ahaha holy crap that was funny. sticks are a "consumable". when you buy a guitar pick at the music store, you dont bring it back when its worn down and no good anymore. just replace them. thats it. and play softer btw

Wow, this guy's stick broke before the drums did? That's gotta be some kind of record here. lol

I believe the included sticks are made of maple. Those are quite a bit lighter than hickory(normal) sticks of the same size, and probably do a lot less damage to the pads. Just something to keep in mind, should your sticks break.....
