I just drove 1.5 hours to pick up Rockband and I can't seem to get my guitar to even power on. I have heard of issues with the whammy, and buttons or strum not working, but I haven't heard anything about the guitar failing to even power on. So I am hoping I am just doing something stupid.

My drums and mic seem to be working fine plugged into the USB hub, however the light will light up for a split second when you plug it in, and then power off.. I finally noticed there was a spot in the back for batteries, so I unscrewed it, and put the batteries in, but that didn't make a difference.

I even tried plugging it in directly to the console, bypassing the hub, but it didn't help.

If anyone can think of something I can do, or if this is a known issue, let me know what I can do..

The instructions for this is terrible.

First off, pull out the batteries. Those are for future production runs when they make it wireless, but probably for cost purposes instead of making 2 molds and assebly lines, they just made one model so they can toss in wireless at a later date and screw us out of wireless....

Second, are you holding down the Xbox button on the guitar after the Xbox turns on to turn it on as a controller? The green flash is showing it is getting a signal and power from the Xbox.

Third, if that isn't the case, I would say you have a faulty instrument and head over to the replacement page. I suggest doing the express replacement. I ordered mine on a Monday and received it on Thursday.
