Isn't the ! after the "you"?
On that subject, I find it interesting that when Panic At The Disco had an exclamation point in the middle of their name, it looked unbelievably stupid, yet in this case it actually works.

60's : Pink Floyd
70's : Aerosmith
80's : Dream Theater
90's : Porcupine Tree (ok, so they formed in 1987, but they didn't really do much until the 90's)
00's : Star One
Wow that was hard. If I did this again tomorrow I would probably choose a completely different set of bands. Its completely dependent on my mood (and yeah I did kinda cheat with Porcupine Tree)

eh, I looked through my library and even though there were quite a lot of bands from 00's, there weren't that many that I listened to regularly, so yes, I ended up choosing Star One. Big woop, wanna fight about it?

They formed in 1996 though. That's a bit farther away than 1999. Besides I've already changed it, and I have a second choice in the 00's if it really bothers you that much.

No. Either did Linkin Park. But they were formed in the late 90's, as Rush was formed in the late 60's. And that's what you are supposed to go by.

Started in 1996.
Is it really worth obsessing over every little detail in people's lists? Especially if the bands' best-known work happened in a decade other than when they started, as is the case with every band you seem to be nitpicking over. It's even worse if the band has no official recorded material in the decade they started out in.

Yes, but the OP didn't go around to every single post and validate what year they started. There's a difference between setting a template and being an annoying ***** about it. Most of the ones you were calling out certainly didn't violate the spirit of the OP, just were technical violations based off of demos and previous incarnations of the bands in question.

I said it to 3 posts. Not to every single one of them.
2 of those bands could very well just slide through. Since they started in the LATE part of the decade (like almost 2 years before the next decade) the other 2 can't really slide that much. Considering there's a 4-5 year part till the next decade.

Nobody wants to argue semantics with you. It's called hyperbole, and it's a rhetorical device used to make a point: in this case, that you're being really annoying.
