Hey all!
Does anyone else occasionally get disc read errors on their Rock Band games? I get them every so often and I worry that I might be approaching the red ring of death.
It's torture to watch this equipment slowly die. My strat just officially died today after a good 20+ hours of strumming, but I watched it slowly miss more and more notes that I knew I had hit, but lied to myself and said that it was fine. I even toyed with the idea of sending it in anyway to get a new one, but that didn't feel right, so I just waited until tonight when it died on me.
I bring this up because my 360 will disc read error on me almost daily when playing Rock Band, but not during other games and I think I'm seeing the slow decline into brick-ness. Anyone else getting these errors?

i think it's happened to me twice...
both times right after a song before it had time to save.
and after i downloaded the Call of Duty 4 patch from almost a month ago my live didn't work at all until i updated again.
if i have to replace my xbox that's gonna suck... i hear about all the hassle some people go through... some people have even been unlucky enough to go through 4 or 5 360's without abusing them at all.
but it's a big company making hundreds of thousands of systems with machines in a factory... i can't blame them for a few mistakes now and then....

Try to return the game disc back to the store and ask for replacement.:)

Last week I started to get those disk error messages, but when that happens I ussual just restarted my xbox. Then tonight it would still not let me play it would just say disk is unplayable.
I take very good care of my games, maybe a little OCD ish so i decided to take a look at it and it was scratched. I was a little confused so i decided to clean it using a normal cleaning device. It stilled didn't work. I looked at the bottom of it there was a crack in it. So i suggest if your reading this and having the same problems i did to look at the bottom of your disk near the center whole to look for a crack. It is more visible on the lable side at least for me. So hopefully i'll get a warrenty for this F'd up game. I know the is the first generation of game but i mean EVERY THING IS BREAKING LEFT AND RIGHT. GUITARS AND DRUMS. NOW GAME DISK. I CAN SEE THE GUITARS AND DRUMS EA IS NEW AT IT. BUT FOR A VETERIN COMPANY TO HAVE DISK BREAKING THAT IS UBSERBED.

Scratched, Damaged, or Faulty Disks
If you have a problem with your game disk you are covered by Electronic Art's standard warranty policy: http://support.ea.com/cgi-bin/ea.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=18481
It is the reality with CDs and DVDs that they can get scratched. It is not necessarily a manufacturing fault, but rather, like I said, the unfortunate reality when dealing with CDs and DVDs.
