Run To The Hills 5* (http://youtube.com/watch?v=c7Bk8kb7Pow)

So yeah, I got my new set, it still has quite a few screwups so i'm going to send it back also, and the pedal broke within 7 songs lol, but I managed to get this video before it tanked;

I wouldn't make a thread for a video like this normally, but I can't find my old threads (search just takes me to a 404 screen) and only 3 people including me have 5*'ed this on Xbox Live, soo I figured it was rare/interesting enough, sorry in advance.

Nice video, you're really not having much luck with drum-sets are you... I'm beginning to think it might not be the manufacturers fault...:p

Well.. you're putting the whole leg into it (heel up I take it)... my guess is no matter how many you get back, you're just gonna keep busting them... I'd try one of the medal strip or cut-out reinforcements by now.

Excellent job though! I seriously need to work on my drum roll technique.. this song is the final frontier for me on Hard.

I am going to be making a steel plate much like the diamond plate one that a member on here made for his pedal. I haven't broken mine yet but I also play without shoes because I'm afraid of braking it with shoes.

I have to check out your vid when I get home from work. Military computers block youtube and all other sites like that.

Great job, man. Run to the Hills isn't so much a song as an endurance test!

Two broken pedals?

Yeah, I don't want to say you're doing it wrong, but you're probably doing it wrong (for the plastic RB pedal). :p

VERY impressive...Maybe one day I'll be able to do that lol...

That's pretty damn impressive. I haven't moved to expert yet but watching your technique on this song should help with some parts i've been struggling with on hard.

Where have your pedals been breaking? I play the same way, heel up using only the ball of your foot (the REAL way), and my pedal is breaking at the hinge. Going to try replacing it with a pedal from an electric kit.

Last ... I'm surprised your rolls are so accurate on the red pad. My red pad does not register every hit. Seems this is a common problem. Is this your original set of pads?

Sweet video editing too.

good job.

by now, maybe one of those 25 dollar diamond reinforcement or the poplar wood replacements off of the forum would be good for the time being.. make those broken pedals at least work for ya for now

He is using a real bass pedal, one his friend made, he has a video of them testing it.

I love the ending. So many of these RB videos are boring because the player is like a perfect robot, but watching you play was an inspirational story of strength and beating and odds. It's better than Rudy.

Excellent job though! I seriously need to work on my drum roll technique.. this song is the final frontier for me on Hard.

In another video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1n2ulbEaAXc) i've got on youtube, it shows that my foot really doesn't hit the pedal hard at all, it just looks that way from the view I have.

The thing is, I want to keep my foot down on the pedal like how I do on Drummania and real drums, but if I do this, the SLIGHTEST movement sets off my pedals when they're pushed down, which causes them to break my combo if there's no note there, so I have to constantly keep my foot in the air.

They've been breaking pretty weirdly; imagine if someone cut a half-moon shape into the left side of the pedal. Yeah, it literally looks like someone took a bite out of the pedal's side.

I've been using a metal pedal though, so yeah :P

Mine doesn't either; there were many times in this video it ate it, but like I posted in the video info, try playing with the OTHER end of the drumsticks; this caused the red drum sensitivity to go way up, without hitting itself multiple times. Trust me, my pads are ****ty, and this is my second set :(

That was amazing. It took me and my friend (2 people 1 drum set) to beat this song on hard.

Love your videos and have been meaning to subscribe. I'm "slowfaller" on the youtube.

kickass. I went home and finished up drum career. 4 stars on Run to the Hills though.

I barely move the bass pedal when I play, with my foot always on it pressed down. The only time I have to move the whole leg with foot in the air is on songs with constant bass notes, like Don't Fear the Reaper. *shrug*

last night i only had about 15 minutes to mess with rb ... but i took apart the red pad and added a rubber spacer underneath the sensor like i had seen elsewhere on the forum (i thought in one of your posts?)

anyway, it seems to have helped a good bit. I'll also try playing with the fat end of the sticks.

I don't think I ever suggested adding a rubber piece under the drumset, but if it works, it works =P

Three more videos;

3's & 7's Expert 5* Drums (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSr6o2fTXKE)
Flirtin' With Disaster Expert 5* Drums (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0r_2r48yJhM)
Sabotage Expert 5G* Drums (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nB_P-09ww1g)

That makes 5 total new videos (I linked to Outside earlier in the thread), that's it for this batch.

Indeed it was not you ... I found the post by DasKonstruct here:

http://community.rockband.com/vbforum/showthread.php?t=15499

The second part where he took the rubber square and placed it in the middle of the underside of the drum head. I used one of those rubber circle pads you use to keep furniture from scratching hardwood floors. I had some laying around ... cut it down into a smaller square and placed it under the sensor of the head. seems to have helped a good bit.

you should give it a try and see if it helps you. i'd be interested to hear since you're the roll-masta.

Hey Deepblue, I have a question for you...

When the beat is extremely repetitive like in GGHT, how do you as a drummer keep yourself from getting bored and miss hitting a note?

Or did I just realize that I have ADD and discovered it by playing GGHT and getting bored with that long red and yellow section? :)
