My preorder was cancelled!

Does anyone know what is going on with the release of the package for PS2? Is this going to be like the Wii and still can't get it a year from now without standing in line outside a store? I preordered through Amazon and received and email this morning stating this...Hello from Amazon.com.

quantity we expected from our supplier. As a result, we have cancelled

I have heard it is the same through Circuit City. How can they do that? There are going to be a lot of sad kids out there. I think this is bs. And to just get the email today less than a week before planned release. Why do they have the game still available for preorder? What would you play it with?

I tried different venues as far as contacting someone and I am sure I will get no response expecially if this has happened to a lot of other people.

Any suggestions as to what I should do? I waited for PS2 simply to save money and not have to buy a PS3 this year.

I've discovered that you can not and should not rely on Amazon to pre-order video games. The same thing happened to me with GH3. Infact up to the day of the release we told that we would get it as scheduled, only to get an email that night saying our pre-order was cancelled.

I've seen 5 copies in my local best buy/circuit city, and they're within 5-10 minutes of one of the biggest malls in the world (King of Prussia). Guess I'm just lucky?

well I got an email today from Amazon but it didnt get cancelled.Instead of being shipped on the 18th its now going to be shipped on the 28th.Even though it wasnt cancelled I wanted to play it on the 21st (my birth day) when all of my friends are coming over and we were going to play Rock Band.This sucks.:mad:

GoGamer just e-mailed me that my preorder was no longer availabe for release in December - expect January 2008.....:(

Thanks for the info. everyone. I guess I have learned my lesson. Good luck to everyone in finding one. If anyone can give me more information about the differences maybe I won't even want one anyway. I heard you can't even make a character. I was told the were no differences!?!
