Who would/wouldn't mind some alternative DLC (as well)?
Now, don't get me wrong, I'm all for the "canonical" Beatles, and I'd gladly see all their official albums as DLC, but my (casual) interest in The Beatles stemmed from two great sources: the LOVE-album and the movie-musical Across The Universe. I think the both of those could make excellent Beatles-related DLC-packs, or why not some other covers? (The soundtrack for I Am Sam has some very good ones for instance).

If it means less Beatles stuff and reduces thier catalogue I'm out, if not, I'm in. But I voted no as i imagine (correct me if I'm wrong) the catalogue might be reduced.

LOVE is fine, but we've already talked about Across the Universe and how its overly-processed, synthetic nature and its banal interpretations of Beatles music should stay far, far away from everything concerning the real Beatles.
Sorry, but Jim Sturgess is on so much autotune that he sounds like T-Pain. Why the hell would you want Across the Universe when you have the real thing?

I'm not interested in covers of their music(not for TB:RB anyway, but I'd be cool with some of the good covers making their way into the normal RB game as DLC). I'm all for more tracks from the Love album as DLC.

I'd enjoy playing the LOVE tracks in TB:RB.
I think any covers of Beatles songs would be much better served as RB2 DLC. It'd be nice if they could work something like that out.

I must've missed that thread, my mistake. As for me, I'm interested in either version, I think they complement eachother. I think both ATU and LOVE are a testament to their music, it just took a youth like me some new approaches to see what was already there in the first place. :)
And you've made some good points, cover version would work well for the regular RB or RB2, but personally, I'd love to run through the entire LOVE in a whole boring Sunday-session marathon.

I wouldn't mind some Love tracks getting in - at least those are still The Beatles. I would not want them in at the expense of the original tracks, however. I'm not sure why people are so hung up on getting Across The Universe tracks in there. They are terrible covers. There are far better covers of Beatles songs out there in the world. Even so, I don't want covers in over The Beatles original tracks. This game is about The Beatles. Why in the world would anybody think that a game strictly about the Fab Four would start introducing cover versions of songs done by other artists? Makes zero sense, and is just a terrible idea regarding songs from ATU. Might as well start including George Burns' Fixing A Hole cover and Steve Martin's Maxwell Silver Hammer while you're at it.
Include Anthology and Love stuff once we've covered the entire catalog (which I don't think we'll get it all anyway) - yep. Include some awful Beatles cover songs in the game? No way.

No covers, at all. Not ever. I wouldn't even consider buying them.
And like a few others have said, I wouldn't want the alternative versions (anthology, Love, etc) before the rest of the "main" catalog. Take care of the originals first and then maybe have that stuff later.

I'm ok with the Love remixes but not the Across the Universe soundtrack. That was garbage.

You lost me at Across The Universe.

That would be awesome (in regular RB, not TB:RB), if only for comedic reasons. I'm ashamed to admit I actually watched that entire movie. It was so terrible that all I could do was laugh the entire time.

Wow, I had no idea that's what people thought about ATU. I won't say it again, I swear it's like I said Macbe..uhm, something bad. Thanks everyone for sharing their opinions though.

I saw it in the theater, owned the album and have the DVD. I liked it for what it was back in the day, but it was pretty terrible. I bought the DVD for nostalgia since I hadn't seen it in forever. Still pretty terrible.
RBRobin, I don't begrudge you liking ATU. There are a few folks here who are into it. I just don't care for the idea of inserting covers into this game - especially covers that I don't think are very good. I would be more open to getting some covers for regular RB, however. Assuming we'll never get the originals in that game, that is.

I'm fine with LOVE or Anthology, but that is it.
