Simple question.
Will "All You Need Is Love" be marked as from Magical Mystery Tour or Yellow Submarine?
And what about "Yellow Submarine"? Will it be labeled as from Revolver or Yellow Submarine?

It was a single before either of those albums, if I remember correctly

I'll guess Magical Mystery Tour and Revolver respectively. I think the 'canon' albums will trump the Yellow Submarine soundtrack.
I'm interested to know what they'll label the single-only releases (i.e. I Want To Hold Your Hand, Paperback Writer etc.) as. The single they were from? Past Masters? Blue/Red Album? 1? I would wager they will be one of the first two, but the other two options wouldn't surprise me.

That's what I was thinking as well. Which isn't to say that I wouldn't mind having the 3 other songs from Yellow Submarine available to play in the game ("Hey Bulldog", "Only A Northern Song" and "All Together Now") as DLC.

If I remember from screens I saw during E3, I think the singles are marked as the singles.

I'm especially confident that Yellow Submarine will be labeled as being from Revolver. I get a bit peeved when people go on about only having two songs from Revolver, because they assign Yellow Submarine to the soundtrack. Having said that, if the three originals from Yellow Submarine turned up, I think that they should be labeled as being from Yellow Submarine.
The singles makes sense although I'm a little surprised they didn't label them as being from Past Masters. Given that they are amongst the remasters they have well and truly been brought into the beatles canon.

Yeah. Like I said in the OP, its been one of the things that has been bothering me, but I just haven't felt the need to ask until now.
I guess that watching this Beatles Shop thing on VH1 Classic has just brought my Beatlemania out, front and center.

I forget where I saw it (it might have been one of the videos in the E3 thread), but I remember seeing a screen and "I Feel Fine" was labeled as the single (and not off of Past Masters).

Well, for better or worse, Yellow Submarine is a cannon album. I always thought they made an LP when they should have made an EP (Yellow Sub) and an EP when they should have made an LP (MMT).
Anyway, I'm guessing they put Yellow Sub with its self-titled album, since it has a dreamscape.
I'm not so sure about All You Need is Love-- it depends on if they decided to do a dreamscape based on the All World telecast, or on the scene from Yellow Submarine. I prefer the former, since it was a kind of milestone in global communications.
As for the Past Masters material... I get frustrated with the PM's because they feel so arbitrary and tossed-off. However, since it looks like Apple is keeping them around for the new digital age, I'd expect them to show up in the game somehow.

I think it depends on whether or not Album Dreamscapes exist.
If they don't, YS will be on Revolver, otherwise it'll be part of the YS Album Dreamscape.
All You Need is Love is an interesting case: it's on the MMT album now, but it wasn't part of the original UK EP. I could see them putting it on YS simply to give that album 5 songs instead of 4 (MMT would then have 9 songs, not counting Flying)

If you think the rest of Revolver will not be Dreamscapes, then what about "Eleanor Rigby"?
"Yellow Submarine" should be listed as from Revolver because that's the first album it was on. Also, as a main studio album, it's more important to complete Revolver than it is to complete the Yellow Submarine soundtrack. However, since it's an on-disc song, I think it'd be easy enough to cross reference the song for both album challenges if necessary.

Well, same goes for I Am The Walrus. If I Am The Walrus is a single, then All You Need Is Love is a single too.

All You Need Is Love will be on Magical Mystery Tour most likely and Yellow Submarine will be on the Yellow Submarine Album because it has a Dreamscape and because they're wearing the outfits that are in the cartoon movie.

Yellow Submarine should be labeled as Revolver but in the chronology of the game, it should come up after Magical Mystery Tour.

In the second gameplay trailer, Yellow Submarine is shown before SPLHCB so that basically means its in its correct position: Revolver/ 1966 A Side Single

Good catch. I would have argued it the other way, to come after MMT, but the trailer sequences follow chronology pretty scrictly elsewhere.

Everybody keeps saying there are 3 originl songs from Yellow Submarine... there are 4. Don't forget about It's All Too Much (not a bad song).
I remember someone who played the demo mentioning th song select screen had pictures of albums (like RB2) but also original single picture sleeves so I'm guessing singles will just be associated with the singles. I imagine Magical Mystery Tour will only incorporate the songs from the original UK EP since they are sticking to British releases.
As for Yellow Submarine... everything is so black and white with you people. I have never once heard anyone mention that maybe it will be associated with BOTH albums. Truth is, it was on both albums, so it should be in game. If there is a Play Album option then Yellow Submarine should show up in its appropriate position on both the soundtrack and Revolver. I don't see why this wouldn't work.
