if A Day In The Life somehow makes it into the game do you think they will put a "big rock ending" in the middle of it and at the end, since both parts are just build ups of noise?

It would be pretty nice if it were a big rock ending.

I doubt they will use big rock endings. All source point to "no" so far.
I imagine it will either be empty charting or the hardest most insane guitar/bass charting in the whole game.
Probably empty though.

I think it would be kind of fun if the end of A Day in the Life was created as a big rock ending, just go crazy pressing all the buttons as it builds and at the end just hit one or two buttons on the guitar for the piano strikes.
I know it's not "authentic," but neither are the big rock endings in general. You're just pressing random buttons to go along with a guitar solo.
Oh but instead of calling it a "Big Rock Ending," they should use George Martin's quote from the Anthology and call it a "Giant Orgasm of Sound" :)
And yes, I know that has no chance of happening.

Haha, I remember the first time I heard him say that. Classic!
Just think about the possibilities when you're playing with you're band and the "Giant Orgasm of Sound" comes up...
The guitarist misses the last note, while everyone else hits theirs, and the singer turns to him and screams, "You ruined my orgasm!"

"A Day In The Life" is considered by most musicians and critics as the greatest Beatles track ever as it offers the best bits of both Lennon and Paul. I can see them leaving it out of the core game (but feel it would be a bloody crime to deprive "new" fans of this track) so it should at least show up in DLC. As far as the ending bit that just goes on? From a game design standpoint, I don't think it has a place in the game and could easily be scrapped.

The ending has both bass and drums (and really cool drums at that). It should absolutely be in the game. I don't think it should be charted as a BRE, though. I do think they could chart that final piano chord to guitar and/or bass, though.

They should make you hold all five buttons to hit the last note.

the ending chord of that song is often called one of the greatest endings to a song ever

There's no reason to chart it to a BRE, because we know what the musicians were told to do:
What I did there was to write ... the lowest possible note for each of the instruments in the orchestra. At the end of the twenty-four bars, I wrote the highest note...near a chord of E major. Then I put a squiggly line right through the twenty-four bars, with reference points to tell them roughly what note they should have reached during each bar ... Of course, they all looked at me as though I were completely mad
So all you have to do is chart low to high over 24 bars. So it could be something like G G GR GR R R RY RY Y Y YB YB B B BO BO O O

I wonder if they could do a version of the BRE, but with only a couple of the buttons at a time, so you have to slide down the neck of the guitar...

I love Ringo's drum fills on that song. Even if we had free-form drum fills, I'd try my hardest to just do what he did.

Please no! No BRE if we get A Day in the Life!
I want to see them chart it to drums~ so I can play it.

Why?!?!?! Why would you want a big rock ending instead of actually playing the notes?
This has to be the worst idea ever... I'd be incredibly upset if HMX did this...

The last twenty seconds of the album version of that track should be in the game charted as "*gibberish*" on vocals. :D

One of the challenges could be to see how long you can do the gibberish loop on vocals until it drives you mad :)

My understanding is that that gibberish bit is not actually part of "A Day in the Life" but a separate hidden and unnamed "song".
As it was not on the American LP of Sgt Pepper, it showed up on Beatles Rarities as "Innergroove" because originally on the UK LP, the song was cut in the innergroove which is the innermost grooves on an LP where the needle just sits and waits to be removed. The original LP played this "gibberish" over and over an over ad naueseam until you removed the needle (I've also seen this done with applause on a couple of live albums, one being by The Eagles). The version on Rarities did not recreate this effect but actually only played the 2 second recording once without looping it.
The CD of Sgt Pepper that was released in 87 included a looped version of the 2 second bit to simulate the UK listening experience but was faded out after a few repeats since infinite playing of a loop is not possible on a conventional CD.
It's just a hidden track an imo should not be attached to A Day in the Life in the game.
Sgt Pepper and Abbey Road had the best endings of any Beatles albums with the final chord in ADitL and the classic ending of The End...
unfortunately, they were both marred by the "Innergroove" and "Her Majesty" respectiely.

Thats cool, didn't know it was considered a separate track
I like the bemused looks on customer's faces when it suddenly pops up after I finish playing Sgt Pepper at work for the thousandth time :)

I think Innergroove and Her Majesty should just play if you leave it sitting on the results screen for a minute or so
