As more information on the game is coming out I find myself wondering about the online play. I've seen that it says 2 or 3 people on one console can play with someone else on live. Does this mean that, say for example Me, my wife, and my son can be on my console and then have a friend in another state play with us over XBox Live, with out having the three of us on my console each having a seperate XBox Live Gold account. I've been running into this problem with a lot of multiplayer games where they completely removed the guest acount and require every person in the game to be signed into XBox Live. My son is not old enough to have his own Live account and the wife certainly doesn't play enough to validate having one. Buying all the add-on instruments for us all to play is one thing, but having to pay for extra live accounts..........

I believe this to be correct.

Well wait....so does that mean that they can sign in as a guest or not?

There is no way theyd do that. One gold account should be good for every member of the band using the same console. Meaning one account should cover every person in real life you're playing with. The person you play with over the internet should need a gold account for his or her own console, however.

Yes, you, your wife, and your son can be on your 360 with one XBL Gold account.
Your friend in a different state has his own 360 and Gold account.
As long as each system as an account, you can mix and match freely.
3 from one system, 1 from the other
2 and 2,
1, 1 and 2,
etc. etc.
There's tons of possibilities.
