So, there may or may not have already been a thread about this, but Josh Homme, Dave Grohl and John Paul Jones have formed a band called Them Crooked Vultures and are putting out an album, presumably called Never Deserved the Future, this fall.
They played their first show last night, but I can't find a decent youtube video.
So yeah, I'd say I'm excited, I've liked everything all of these guys have done (Particularly Led Zep, QOTSA, Eagles of Death Metal and Nirvana).
Thoughts?

Like I said, all the youtube videos are such bad quality I can't tell
The song titles are -
* "Elephants"
* "New Fang'
* "Scumbag Blues"
* "Dead End Friends"
* "Bandoliers"
* "Mind Eraser"
* "Gunman"
* "Daffodils"
* "Interlude w/ Ludes"
* "Caligulove"
* "Warsaw"
* "Nobodys Loves Me"
That sounds kinda Queen's of the Stone Age/Eagles of Death Metal to me.

I am very curious to see what this sounds like, they seem to have gotten great initial reviews. (although my source for that is a Foo Fighters board, so they may be a bit biased)

This goes to show that John Paul Jones isn't relying on the past, at least.

Every review of their Lollapalooza show I've read basically said it was beastly. I can't wait for this, as the Foos, QotSA, and Zep are all among my favorite bands. Looks like there will finally be a supergroup that is actually as good as it should be!
...I've listened to that sample AT LEAST 20 times...

I've been begging for Grohl to pick up the sticks again ever since Probot came out, so I'm extremely excited, especially with JPJ making up the other half of the rhythm section.

Based on what I've heard (i.e. the 14-second clip), I'm pretty excited for this. It has a nice Kyuss/QOTSA vibe.

UPDATE - album due out September 20th
Yes. Both Dave Grohl and John Paul Jones have played with some of the ex-Beatles on solo projects and concerts over the years. Plus Josh's music with QOTSA has a heavy hint of psychedelic-ness mixed with metal. It sounds like a win.

Wow, seriously?! Not only is Grohl teaming up with Homme again, but the bassist of Zeppelin is joining them?1
This is too awesome! Really excited to hear this album.
EDIT: Where is everyone getting the September 20th release date from? I'm seeing October 23rd on a few sites

I realized I have yet to post my opinion on this. So here it is:
All the bands that these guys come from (QotSA, Led Zep, Foo Fighters, Nirvana) are among my 'meh' pile. The only band I have a slight interest for is Nirvana, and even then it is very slight. I'll check out this album none the less, maybe the collaboration will create something greater than the sum of its parts. But to answer the question 'are you excited?'... no.

Sarcasm doesn't exactly seem as easy to detect as I believed it would be. I thought maybe by my name people would understand I was obviously joking.

Besides Muse and Wolfmother, this is my most anticipated album of the year...and all I've listened to was their YouTube previews!
I sent them an Email about Rock Band Network, but no reply
