Online Leaderboards should be separated by difficulty. Don't you think? It's obvious that the higher scores are obtained on expert and there are some of us who will either never get there or it will take a while. Would be nice to see who we rank amongst players of the same level.

It wouldn't help a thing. From seeing what goes on ranked play, I can assure you that Expert-level players would crash the Medium and Easy leaderboards just to get top scores there, too. Keeping a single leaderboard per song is the right way to keep things simple.

That's a good point. I never thought of that but now I completely agree with you.

Interestingly enough, while the very top scores are held by expert players, most of our band's top 10s involve playing on lower difficulty. Because of streak multipliers and overdrive, expert players sometimes shoot themselves in the foot by breaking too many streaks.
Either way, Electric Zen hit the nail on the head. If you think having a Medium leaderboard means that Medium level players are going to have fair rankings, there's no way.

Yea, you guys are right. I guell I'll just settle for getting in below the 1000's. That's kind of my gauge right now. If I can get in under the 1000's on Medium I'm happy.

Only true bands are 4x expert players.
I spit on people capable of playing expert, but rather play hard " to get the leaderboards status"

I don't spit on them necessarily, but I would rather play with someone who's challenging themselves rather than taking the easy road to victory. I don't think I've played one songs below hard on vocals since I got the game.

I made the exact same post about 2 weeks ago but I don't think anyone ever responded to it. I believe that the each song should be separated by difficulty to see where you rank amongst those playing the same difficulty. Perhaps when the community site is finally put up you can view the leaderboards based on difficulty.
I don't know if I really foresee those who play expert going back to easy or medium to play through all the songs to get top seed but there might be a few who just have too much time on their hands.

The tug of war is very odd. I've been playing drums on medium. Today was the first time I've played tug of war...I did play for a quite a long time so I'm in already 33rd place. I don't quite know if that means. Is that 33rd place of all players?. It shouldn't be all players because I'm not that good. I'm really good at medium, but on hard I can play some songs good, but others horribly. I haven't even got past 'Epic' on the solo set list. I could probably get through it, but only with 3 stars.

Wow, I never thought of that. I despise playing anything below hard, and even hard sometimes. It's just not challenging enough, and gets boring quickly. This is all on GH btw :D

I disagree, I like the way it is. It doesn't make sense to do it any other way. For one thing, I get above a lot of Expert players when I'm playing on Medium. Plus people who can play on expert can just play on the other levels and kick your trash anyways... and they probably will do that.
Edit: Yeah, what he said.

Every Leaderboard in the existance of Leaderboards that seperated things out by difficulty has been dominated by "expert" level players dropping down. Sorry, them's the breaks.

Spitting seems extreme. I always play at the level that challenges me the most personally, but I have to admit one of my favorite parts of that Battle of the Bands before the game came out was seeing the strategy behind choosing difficulty to maximize score. But that wasn't a leaderboard, that was a competition. I've always been facinated by the strategic elements in any competition.
Anyway, it doesn't matter. As time goes on, Expert level bands will drift to the top. More notes equals more points.

It'd be nice to see an "overall" skill level based on offline game score / online game score.
That way I wouldn't be trying to battle on HARD against someone who has 20 gold stars on Expert trolling. The 'overall' skill could be matched up to someone with similar scores in all modes to me.
Either way.. I agree, the leaderboards work fine the way they are.
