One of the only gripes I have with the Guitar Hero franchises is I love the songs so much that I have go out and download the songs so I can have em on my computer and ipod. That's fine and all but I think it would be great to have a hard copy of the soundtrack.
Now, I figure the problem with this is it would boost up the price of the overall game, and I don't really wanna pay that much more. Plus with all the DLC there would always be new songs I'd be missing out on. But I think it would be great to have a real compilation of the 40 Rock Band songs that come with the game at shipping time.
Does anyone else here want an official copy as much as me? Would you pay extra for it? If so, how much? Or do you maybe have a better idea?

you stole my idea!!!!
anyways this idea is great BUT it would drive the costs up a lot as i'm sure Harmonix only licensed the songs for use in the game, not as a cd soundtrack. So they would have to re-license the tunes for use in a cd, which isnt exactly a cheap penny

It would probably be easier and cheaper to just download the songs from iTunes or whatever your favorite online music place is.

sorry for stealing your idea Eman, lol. Seems like you guys dont really want a cd to come with the game that bad. Which is weird, I think. I figured everyone on the forums would want one and that this thread would probably go no where :P

I don't want one, but I still think it is a cool idea. I wouldn't mind if there was a more expensive "special edition" version of the game that came with a soundtrack and maybe something else. So that way those who did want it could get it (if it is even possible) and those that just want the game can do that too.

Good idea, I'd go for that too. Definitely a good idea.

I really like this idea. I was kicking it around in my head too. I either had or got off of i-Tunes many on the songs that were in Guitar Hero 1 & 2. Some of the problem is a lot of the bonus songs aren't on there. The ones I've gotten though have helped my scores in the game because I could really listen to the changes in the songs.

Well listening to most of the songs of RB beforehand is vital if you want to sing.............
its tough to hear a song for the first time and know the rythym of it vocally

That's what training mode is for...

Listening to the songs beforehand is a really good way to remember the songs and that translates directly into better performance. Training mode, eh, its no fun to learn songs that way

Any more feedback? Again I'm extremely surprised at the equal distribution of votes here.

Yeah, I just voted then and was surprised how even the votes are. I said no because I don't think I really need the music to listen to while I'm not playing game. Once I get the game I'm going to be playing it enough that listening to the songs on my mp3 player or whatever would just make me get sick of them.

It would be cool of them to put on with the game but its not something I HAVE to have so i voted yes but don't charge extra
