Ok, well I was looking around for my christmas present, because I'm 14 (dont flame), so i go to my parents closet to like, right? so i almost give up and leave, but i realize i forgot to look behind the suitcases, so i go over, move the suitcases, and lo and behold, rockband for Xbox 360, so, a few questions, If my parents bought this early on, am i screwed, or is there a way i can tell what version it is, and two, will the warranty still be good after christmas if i need new parts?

Thanks!

You can pretty much count on having issues of some kind, just use the RMA process like everyone else.

Yeah, I'm in the same situation (I bumped into it on accident, although there was no doubt in my mind I was getting it). There should still be 30 days left of the warranty, so hopefully by the time that's over all my controllers will be working..

Go to them and say "Mom, I know Santa does not exist and that you bought Rock Band for me. So enough of it, just give it to me already. Victory is mine!"

I preordered Rock Band the first day preorders were made available and picked up one of the first copies here in southern california.

My copy of rock band is one of the 'first run' copies, and I have had absolutely no problem whatsoever.

I'm quite sure that the vast majority of Rock Band users have had no problems. The angry minority screams a lot louder than the satisfied majority.

I know about a dozen people personally who also have first run copies and no problems.

im 14 too but my mom couldnt find rockband in like any stores so i called Gamestop and they had it so now i know im getting it on eve. ive tried bribing my mom to let me play but she wont =P

and plus if you try to mod the drums to make them quieter will it void the warranty? or is there a way to place the original back on?

I tried to find anything I could, no success at all. This place is too small to hide a box like RB, I think they keep things at a friend's house =P

Never look a gift horse in the mouth.

They save you $170. Even if everything's broken, it's only a few days that you have to wait for replacements. Plus, in the very very likely case that everything is working, you have a brand new game for Christmas morning :)

I'm not too worried about it, Last year when I asked for a Wii, my mom straight up told me she's having problems finding it and couldn't get one. She hasn't said anything to me 'YET', so if she doesn't than she found it cuz she'll ask me what I want instead if she can't get it.

In response to the warranty period they have kind of tossed that out the window due to the problems with the peripherals and companies usually have special exceptions around the holidays because they understand that their products have been sitting in the box for long periods of time.

Plus they don't ask for a receipt, so how do they know when the 60 days is up?

Two of my friends and I got rockband the day it came out.

Well, my grandparents got it for me and gave it to me two weeks later when they got back from Florida

But

All of our guitars are faulty. Maybe we hit em too hard or something, but the strum bar double strums or doesn't strum at all, and its all loosey goosey ontop of that.

I think the hardware issues are substantial and not just a few pissed off people.
