PS3 GH Guitar troubles

Just got Rock Band 2.
The patch installed fine.
The drums work great.

The guitars are having troubles oddly enough.
They play hit and miss.
Eye of the Tiger: I can hit every note at the start as it strums through the same note. Once the rhythm starts however it's completely hit and miss. You can see the notes pressed but no strum.

I can't complete any songs.
I have tried 2 GH guitars, the World Tour and the Les Paul versions.

I have calibrated the guitars. No change.

I can play Guitar Hero on Expert and am attempting Rock Band 2 on Hard so pretty sure it's not user error.

I have read through the stickies but they primarily only address Rock Band instruments.

Nevermind.....come to find out it was the calibration.

I set it for drums at about 55ms which was obviously way to slow for guitar.

Too bad there aren't different calibrations for drum and guitar.

Oh well, at least I don't have to send it back.
