Yeah, I'm going to Cruefest on Tuesday at PNC Bank Arts Center here in Jersey. The only bands I really am going to see are Drowning Pool, Godsmack, and obviously Motley Crue. Any of you guys/girls seen any of these bands live? Are they any good?

ah, lucky. when i lived in nc they had a killer deal with 6 tickets for like $99. i couldn't go, but i wanted to soo badly. i'd just recommend searching their live tracks on the internet.

Godsmack is known to kick some ass. Sully Erna's stage presence is pretty admirable. Drowning Pool I don't know much about live because I don't like what they do in the studio. Crue I'm just not a big fan of, but they're supposed to be good live if you're into them.

i saw godsmack years ago and didn't really enjoy their show. i'm not really familiar with Deadpool, and i don't really care for motley crue.

Yeah, the bands didn't impress me much, but I'm basically a tag along, somebody had an extra ticket and they happened to give it to me. But, what the hell, free show right?:)

You don't seem like the type of guy who would enjoy Godsmack's music anyways.

I want to see Godsmack do all their older music, material off their self-titled and Awake and some songs off Faceless. I don't care too much for their newest album, IV

IV was kind of a step towards post-grunge, and I agree it didn't do anybody any favors as to the final product (although Sully's voice sounded a bit better than it has in the past). I'm hoping their new album will be a more standard nu-metal affair, but Whiskey Hangover points toward the band continuing down the post-grunge path.

It's not really a post-grunge step. They're doing what Disturbed and Slipknot already did and are switching from a more nu-metal sound to a metal/hard rock style.

A friend of mine went to Cruefest with his girlfriend last week. He said it was pretty awesome.

I've seen the Crue twice, both times at Download, once in 07 and once earlier this year. They were great both times, but I haven't seen them do a gig as opposed to a festival and the places have really different atmospheres but if they are anything like they were at Download you're in for a treat.
