...People, its official: Weezer's upcoming 7th studio album (title, details, etc to be announced) is set for release October 27th, 2009!


...And the first single off the album is titled "(If you're wondering if I want you to) I want you to" and it comes out on August 25th!

This seems kind of soon since their last album just came out last June.

But since I'm a Weezer fan, I'm interested.

I've also read that Rivers will be the sole lead vocalist for this whole album, unlike the Red Album.

And, I agree. I loved the Red Album as well. I didn't understand the hate.

I'll guess this will be the purple album simply for the awesomeness of purple. If I'm right, this will be their best album.

What do you mean "if anyone cares?" Weezer is big time. I can't wait to hear the new stuff.

And I'm mixed on the red album. Pork and Beans is my favorite Weezer song ever, the other singles are ok and the rest is meh. The sheer amount of flaming ego (I'm the greatest man that ever lived, etc )in the album gets on my nerves though, whether it's Rivers talking or a character in the song.

Weezer should've quite after Green.

They butchered a bunch of really good B-Sides when they made "Maladroit", then followed it up with the memorably horrible "Make Believe". I never even gave the Red Album a chance after hearing Pork and Beans/the songs on Rock Band.

Hm. I love the Blue and the Green Album. The Red Album is awesome and Perfect Situation off Make Believe is my by far my favourite Weezer song :)

Hmmm I will most likely like this, I mean I cant mention a weezer I hate haha. To me their work sounds similar all the time so far but I still love them :D I think the single will be awesome.
