I just got off the phone with EA support. My intent was to ask the frontline about the guitar situation and either renew my hope that a working controller is in my future or validate my belief that this is garbage.
Here's the situation... The original guitar that I received on release day began to demonstrate strumming issues after 4 hours of light playing (not hard or abusive). I just recieved my replacement guitar about an hour ago and it is worse straight outta the box. I would catagorize it as 30% multi-strum / 60% no-strum. At least my original controller is about 20% / 20% respectively.
Here's a summary of the conversation:
- I asked the support guy about ETA on redesigns. He is only aware that the RockBand guitar makers are working with the Guitar Hero guitar makers to improve the "strummer".
- I asked about multiple designs in shipment currently...he was not aware of multiple designs currently being shipped.
- I asked if I replace my replacement guitar, would there be any hope of getting a "good" guitar. He could not answer that.
- I asked what he would do if he were in my shoes... He said "he would buy a Guitar Hero controller".
So straight from the frontline, don't expect this issue to be solved in the near future.
