View Full Version : So if this final song IS what everyone's saying...

If the final song IS The End which is seeming more and more likely, and if it is an edited mix which plays as just that song, then do you think HMX will rerelease it with the Abbey Road DLC attached to the medley.
I mean the opening of The End would sound fine by itself, but the end of Carry That Weight without The End right behind it would sound chopped off.
I think that if we'll be getting Within You Without You with the Sgt Pepper DLC after having the LOVE mix on disc, it might make sense to do the medley including The End after already having The End by itself on disc. Plus it could be fun to have the choice of how to play it.
Thoughts?

I'm going to throw a fit if it is "The End."
On disc is full of Abbey Road, thanks. I'm going to buy the album when it comes out as DLC anyway...

I REALLY don't agree with all these rumors/theories/whatnot suggesting that "The End" will be a song on its own.
I know we all want to play that great drum solo... and we will.. when it's released as part of the Abbey Road Medley for the Abbey Road DLC.
I feel that Harmonix would treat The End much like they're treating With A Little Help From My Friends... as one chapter in a much longer song.
The End on it's own doesn't make much sense in a single sense. The End is exactly that: The End. The end of the album. Something that brings an epic like Abbey Road to a close. I feel that The End is a great song to end the album. However, on it's own - aside from the great drum solo - it seems as little more than a third to a song.
Personally, Help! seems like the most obvious choice for the final song. I'd like Hey Jude or Strawberry Fields Forever - but they wouldn't really envelope the RB experience like Help! would.
So, that's my theory... but I've been wrong before.

What if the last song is "Get Back"?
After all, The Beatles did play it twice during their rooftop concert. I just thought it would be funny if they decided to count it as 2 songs and play it twice.
*Ponders at the thought of them keeping in the bit where George turns the AMP back on after the Police turned it off. haha
I personally still with A Day In The Life would be the last song, simply for the amazing chord at the end, as the game fades away into the credits. But there isn't much guitar in that song. hmm...

You guys are missing the point of this thread. There are plenty places to debate what the last song is. I'm asking specifically if it IS The End whether you want it to be or not, whether you think it is or not, how do you think this would affect DLC?

I'm thinking the medley could end with Carry That Weight. Assuming the songs of the medley were mostly recorded separately, there's gotta be a master track where the last note of Carry That Weight sustains and then fades naturally... it wouldn't be the best ending, but it would suffice.
It is conceivable that they'd include The End as a duplicate in the medley. Who knows, we'll have to wait and see.

I'm guessing that they may be able to play back to back or choose whether you want to play the track or not.

Preorder from Gamestop and you'll only have to shell out for about two songs!
Seriously, though, Harmonix, I hope you know how much this cuts out of your initial DLC sales. When those numbers hit, I hope everyone is sufficiently prepared to see that even hardcore dlc folk downloaded 3, 4 songs max.

It will work just fine. HMX has said the medley is playable as a single track. I'm sure that it will all fit together just fine. These guys are pulling individual instruments off two track masters. They are putting an incredible amount of detail into this. Yoko, Paul, Olivia and Ringo are fantastic quality control on the product. In the making since 2006. Do you really think that with everything they've done in making this game arrive, that they will just butcher the medley and leave it a mess in the game? Come on now.

It's an unreleased, never-before-heard track, I think.
Perhaps, Carnival of Light?

Carnival of Light is described as having no rhythm, no beat, and is experimental and all over the place. Not something you would expect to find on the disc at all. An unlockable that you can listen to somehow? Maybe. The final surprise song? Extremely doubtful. I'd more expect to the joked about "You Know My Name" as the final track.

^This. Also, someone mentioned that we're getting the original "Within You Without You" on the Sgt. Pepper's album DLC. Has this been confirmed? I wish they had stuck with the original (problematic drums and all), but now that we have the remix, I don't think we need two versions. And I'd be a little surprised if we get them- the original is two minutes longer, so it would require all-new programming; why put resources into duplicating songs when there are so many out there we may not get at all?
