A moderator closed my previous thread where I publicized that an EA support person had recommended I "buy a Guitar Hero controller" instead of dealing with another broken replacement.
Here's the thread:

HMXSean closed the thread and stated:
"The replacement guitars being sent out do have redesigned parts. The issues with strumming people have been experiencing have been fixed with this new redesign.
I would like to know why, if this true, the replacement that I requested only 3 days ago and received just today is doing the same thing. Doesn't seem any different to me. And if it is a new design, it obviously isn't any better.
I would also like to know why EA and Harmonix are hiding this issue under a rock by closing my previous thread rather than simply providing a useful and truthful response. I am looking at the forum rules now and don't see any that I have broken.
I have NOT...
- posted anything that is racist/sexist/creedist
- used any foul language
- posted anything copywritten
- posted any spam
- started or participated in any console wars
I am however trying to notify other consumers of my experiences, which are truthful and valuable, so that they can make informed decisions when they come across the same issue.

Quickly in before lock...again.
EDIT: Posting a thread topic that has been rehashed to hell and back could be called spam.

In before lock as well. And I ask the same questions. Sean basically locked your last thread with a message that I can only describe as a "LA LA LA I CAN'T HEAR YOU"-grade denial that you're having any problems.

I agree.
Of course, as a paying consumer I could argue that it needs to be rehashed until:
1) responsibility is taken by EA / Harmonix. (I'm not feeling this. Proven by the moderator sweeping it under the rug)
2) the issue is resolved or a communication about the resolution is publish (haven't seen one yet)

I don't know what more can be done. It has already been stated that there was a problem with the early batch of bundles during production and they slipped out during the Rock Band launch.
They are giving free guitars to the people that have faulty guitars free of charge. They have recognized the problem and guitars currently being produced have new strumming mechanics.
The phone rep could be fed up in taking calls for people aggravated about Rock Band. I used to work in a place like that and it really is hit or miss on whether you get someone that is willing to go out of their way to help you or is having a bad day and doesn't want to deal with people.

I have read this. That there is a "new redesign" that has new internal parts and fixes the strum issues.
This is my point exactly!
I just requested my replacement on 3 days ago and recieved it today. I waited till 3 days ago because I wanted to allow time for the issue to be fixed. But the replacement I received today (just today) is also broken. So this begs the question, has the issue really not been fixed or did I just get another "old crappy broken design"? And if the later, why are they still shipping the "old crappy broken design" as a replacement for the "old crappy broken design"? And how many times do I need to go through the warranty process before I get the "new redesign" as a replacement to my replacement to my replacement?
I don't know what can be done about this either. But a good start would be for EA to stop shipping broken replacements, communicate that some broken replacements are still in the pipeline, and back-up their statements of a redesign with a swift replacement that works.

My replacement as well as I would guess a majority of people's replacements work perfectly fine....
