I am wondering how The Beatles RB will effect online play when trying to hook up with other players with DLC in RB2.
May sound odd but frankly its been rather rare finding someone with DLC to play with online -in WT or Quickplay. I Have slowed my DLC purchases down to a crawl because of this.
My theory is that when TB:RB is released everyone will flock to it leaving the rest who didn't to play RB2 ( disc songs only even more likely)in a smaller pool.
After TB:RB have had their fill they will put RB2 back in only to find less players than before themselves. Over thinking this? maybe......

I doubt it, in fact I have zero interest in playing the beatles with anyone online. it's too sacred of an experience. online play with RB2 is safe, because there will always be people out there who want to play metal or paramore or whatever.

PFFFFFFFFFFT! Yeah right
Do you really think everyone who plays RB is obsessed to hell and back with the beatles or something?
Even if they were ,do you really think people are going to stay amused with Tier 0 , 1 , 2, and maybe 3 songs for long?
I bet there won't be much of a difference for online activity on RB2 , maybe a bit fewer people at 1st but then like 2 or 3 days later probably back to normal

Yea I think (and hope) that you are over-thinking this.
Would be a shame if all the RB2 players disappeared.

I'll probably play the Beatles on line more than off. I just like playin with other folks and i do not care of what level they play, i just play for fun. That is also the same with RB2. I have a lot of DLC and never find anyone with the same stuff, but I still a lot on line just for fun and play DLC, by myself :(

Fear not, dude. There will be plenty of matching services online for folks like yourself (and myself). Those won't go away. And in a year (give or take), you'll get RB3 with shiny new features, shiny new songs, and a giant influx of new online players.

He's one of those difficulty whores that we don't need around here.
Also, he's bashed them constantly.
You people should stfu really
The beatles were The jonas brothers of the 60s
The beatles FACTS :
1.All of the beatles fans during their actual time were screaming 12 year old girls just like the jonas brothers fans are , haven't you seen anything about the beatles on TV before? In all the videos their fanbase consist of literally only crazy screaming young girls
2.All of the beatles music is instrumentally suck ass pop rock/soft rock with whiny/pre pubescent sounding vocals , just like the jonas brothers
3.The beatles are only considered legends , BECAUSE THEY ARE OLD
Give it till like 2040 and they will probably be making RB: The jonas brothers
Don't even try to argue with me on this , The beatles are the Jonas brothers of the 60s and the only reason they are considered legends is because of time
No , if you could import the whole beatles RB into the regular RB all the songs would probably max out at tier 2
If you want to say what song is the "Visions" of Beatles RB in the sense of its the song you can't stand to listen to , then imo its the whole song list lol
20 and I absolutley would never buy the beatles rock band unless maybe it was like $1
If someone gave it to me for free I guess I'd take it and try playing everything on it once and then probably trade it in at a gamestop lol

I think a common misconception is that Beatle songs are all easy, which would make gameplay boring. I don't think this at all. And I also believe that there are a lot of causual players who just want to 'MAKE' music, and Beatle music fits the bill.. Will it make a decline in online RB2 players? Probably not. I plan to play both equally, myself online.

I can never find anyone playing band quickplay in RB2 online. I either find a person, they leave, I continue (by myself) and just play.
I expect the same for TB:RB.

I keep hearing that "Jonas Brothers" meme. The more proper analogy is Radiohead, who started out as a fairly typical alt/grunge band and turned into the most innovative and challenging mainstream band of our time.
But of course, the people making it are narrow-minded folk who think they know better than the rest of the world anyway, so what can be done for them? They have a truth they want to believe, which is that anything old must suck.
Or even more amusing, that some bands from that era were awesome, but The Beatles sucked, even though those other bands would be the first to tell you that The Beatles had some amazing cuts.
The first weekend Sgt Pepper came out, Jimi Hendrix started covering the titular track. That wasn't meant to be ironic.

When will the Jonas Brothers be doin their Sgt Pepper album?
I think there will be a slight decline in RB2 players initially, but it won't be a RB online apocalypse. I will still play lots of RB2 (I have a lot of DLC) - I'll just be mixing it up and playing Beatles as well.

It'll be better for me, because if I do find someone, I don't have to wince while they scroll down to the Impossible section. On this game, I'm up for anything.

With the quotes of his you posted, I would have to agree with your statements.

On topic: I know for me personally I will be playing TB:RB the vast majority of the time. I know and love every single one of their songs, and have been listening to them for so many years, I doubt I will tire of them easily. Oh...difficulty doesn't matter, I play for fun, enjoyment of music, and good times with friends.
I would like to say I would still get online with RB2 and play often due to the vast amount (327+ songs) of DLC that I have. But, that would be a lie, because most of the time the others online have little to no DLC, and those who do, seem to have about 100 or so songs, mostly of metal, so we still have few songs in common. So yeah...when I play RB2 it will be local with friends, playing the vast array of songs we actually enjoy. That is if we ever stop playing THE BEATLES!!! :D

And when RB3 hits, we'll hopefully have the ability to find people with our DLC anyway!
I don't play RB2 online, so me devoting my time to playing TB:RB won't make any difference in that respect.
I think the player pool might dip a bit, but I doubt it'll be too noticeable.
I'll probably give TB:RB online a try, we'll see.

This is the reason I'll be playing TB:RB online more than RB2.

Who the hell dares compare Jonas Brothers to The Beatles ¬_¬
John Lennons left pinky toe has more song writing abilities than all of the Jonas Brother combined.
If anyone wants to argue with me I suggest you gtfo.

Everybody is going to be playing TB:RB and not any other game till the next century.

Seems the direction people tend to move is forward not backwards,so migrating back to RB2 after TB:RB seems unlikely to me. The only cure for this logically would be RB3 with RB1 and 2 being transferable to it.
Problem is there has been no announcement for RB3 yet. We know however it wont be in '09 so how deep into '10 do they plan on going?
And there is a chance TB:RB will bomb and folks will naturally go back to RB2,but thats doubtful. I am leaning towards the two being split almost equally meaning all difficulty whores etc will stay/go back and the other/just for fun crowd will move on to TB:RB. This will result in a dwindling/shrinkage in online play also.
