Because cleary, King Diamond, Blue Oyster Cult, Guns N Roses, Yngwie, Van Halen, Led Zeppelin and Kashmir are all better.

The Beatles are so fantastic that it went right over your head.

Real explanation:
The band may not be, in your eyes, fantastic, but understand this:
They are one of the best selling bands of all time, one of the first true "rock" bands out there, and they caused a revolution in music. They are highly influential and have made a legacy behind them. I haven't met anyone who didn't at least know the tune of a Beatles song, regardless of whether or not they knew it's title or artist.
