I can't tell if I'm having technical issues with the guitar or if I just can't play at times.

Every once in a while It seems like the strum stops working, now I know about the issues with down strum, and I think I have it, but here is the problem. It works in the menu, and at times it also starts working in the game for a good amount of time.

But as I said, after a while it isn't responding as much. I don't want to send this thing back unless I know for a fact it's faulty and it's not just me. So what do I do?

Send it back.

My strum was exactly the same way. It would usually work in the menu, but as soon as I got a few notes into the song it would crap out every time.

I sent it back and got a new guitar--this one does not have that issue. It has other unrelated problems (overdrive sensor) so I'll probably send this one back aswell until I get the latest gen ones.

So there is a version of the guitar they may send me that won't have these issues? How long does it usually take?

Depends on whether you choose the express method or not.

If you go express, they ship you the new guitar on 2-day airmail (I ordered mine Sunday night, got it Wednesday) but they put a $125 hold on your credit/debit card, and you have to ship your old guitar back in the same box (postage is free) within 28 days or they keep the money.

I got mine right away, a refurbished model. The strum bar is much better, but the tilt sensor doesn't work. I hear there is a new gen. out there now that has neither problem, so I'm going to keep going through with this until they send it to me.

Crap I choice the normal method, no money on my card yet. So it will probably take a while. Especially with christmas. Here is hoping I'll get the new model though, I love the guitar so much, it's got a great feel, now if the strum bar was working it would be the best guitar I've played for GH or RB.
