Songs with double bass drumming

I'm just wondering how the RockBand team are handling songs that might have an extended period of double bass drumming. Will you be expected to hit the kick pedal twice as fast or will you only have to kick for every other note?

I'm sure they wont make you play the notes of a double bass pedal with one foot. As a drummer, I know that just wont work for certain speeds. I guess they just have to cut the notes in half, or whatever.

If they actaully use songs that have very fast bass drumming, I would assume that they would make you only hit every-other note, because some of those speeds are exceptionally fast, too fast to do with one foot. Also at least from the set list so far it doesn't seem to me like they are choosing songs from the genres that often use exceptionally fast bass drumming.

Or they could do the poor man's version of double bass drumming: alternating notes with the bass drum and floor tom.

Tom Sawyer is in the game, and that has double bass in it (although it is a cover, so the cover probably won't have double bass). Also, Who's Next is supposed to be the first album for download, and I know the song Bargain (which is in that album) has double bass in it (though, again, they might do a cover of it rather than using the master, so that they can take out the double bass part).

Yeah I hope they do put in songs with double kick and just make you hit every alternate bass drum stroke. They'd be putting a pretty big limitation on the songs able to feature in the game if they stipulated 'no double kick'.

I think/hope there is double kick because they said there will be songs ranging Metallica's entire career and AFAIK there's double kick in every song for their first four albums.

If you wanted to get real technical you could always start brushing up on your heel-toe technique to try and do the double kick runs with one foot ;)
