Under A Glass Moon by Dream Theater is one of my favorite guitar solos and a few others I like:

Through Different Eyes - Fates Warning
Glasgow Kiss - John Petrucci
To Live Is To Die - Metallica
Sweet Child O' Mine - Guns N' Roses
Aces High - Iron Maiden

Don't feel like naming anymore.

i'm not a big guitar solo guy, but harrison's solo in "i want you (she's so heavy)" came to mind first.

dinosaur jr and sonic youth are probably my favorite bands in terms of guitar solo excellence, though.

It's close enough.

Thank You (from BBC Sessions) (solo starts at 2:29) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jc-EdW1amwg) - Led Zeppelin

All Along the Watchtower (the solo and guitar lick) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=14qTXRkAKr8) - Jimi Hendrix

Anything Hendrix plays always catches my attention. All Along the Watchtower comes to mind right now, just because the chord progression along with the notes he chose sound really epic.

Stairway To Heaven is another one, and of course Eruption, because I love EVH's guitar tone.

Would the intro to Little Guitars count as a solo?

Oh, Randy Rhoads in Crazy Train. A-MAZ-ING!

Hmmmm, for me I HAVE to agree on Crazy Train.

Recently i've become very attracted to the outro of Minor Thing by the Chili's. Is it a solo? is it an outro? It's good though.

Neil Schonn's solo in Journey's Lights.

Neil Schonn was my health teacher's brother. He said he doesn't talk to him anymore, that he's a bit of a jerk.

He also told me that Neil Schonn doesn't share his wealth with the rest of his family. That's being a jerk.

HOW COULD I FORGET THAT ONE????

I change my mind. This one. It is one of the coolest uses of the Whammy Pedal I have every heard.

I also like Comfortably Numb. These are both fun to play on guitar as well. But I think everything is fun on guitar. :D
