As awesome as Radiohead and the White Stripes would be, I'm sure you guys are aware of them. I would like to point out a band and album that would be a perfect fit for this game, but may be overlooked: the band is Shonen Knife, the album is Let's Knife. If you guys only release one full album, this should be the one.

I've collected hundreds of cd's over the years, most of them rock or alternative, and there is no album that would better fit Rock Band than this one. I implore you, fine employees of Harmonix, if you have not heard this album, give it a listen and I'm sure you will agree that it is awesome.

Let me look into my crystal ball and observe as you listen to this album for the first time:

As track 1, "Riding on the Rocket", plays out, you laugh and kind of have a WTF? moment, but you can't help but dig it. It's good stuff, you have to admit. You can understand the appeal of Shonen Knife, it seems, but you think to yourself "really, isn't this sort of a one-trick pony? Won't this shtick wear thin after a song or two?"

As the album plays on, you enjoy each song, almost in spite of yourself... this unique combination of pop/rock coupled with such quirky lyrics... it grows on you. By track 5, with the deliciously campy hard rock of "Antonio Baka Guy", you can no longer deny that you are really enjoying this music.

I believe you will be sold on the idea when you reach track 7. By this point, you know what Shonen Knife is all about, and if "Let's Knife" is the perfect album for Rock Band, than "Flying Jelly Attack" is the perfect song.

Beware, by the time you finish listening to the climactic track 15, "Burning Farm", you will be a Shonen Knife fan for life.

There, I've said my piece, I've made my request. It is up to you now, if you have any ounce of love for yourself whatsoever, you will obtain this album and delight in the treasure it delivers to your ears.

Yeah that's some great stuff. Should have added it to my J-pop set list.
