Magnetic Guitars

I understand that Rockband has replaced the original microswitch strum guitars with newer magnetic strum guitars.

Is this True?

If it is, does anyone know when these new guitars started shipping in the XBOX360 bundles.(There is a date sticker on the bottom of the bundle box)

It is true. Not sure about the date they started making them though. All I know is my replacement one was the magnet version.

BIG QUESTION: How do you know if the guitar you've got is The Magnet Model?

Because I'm getting ready to box up my 1st guitar... and once EA has received it, I'm getting ready to call and request a replacement for the guitar they sent, which still doesn't fix the "overdrive-happens-at-will" problem.

It sure would be great if there was some accurate information made available from Harmonix about the hardware revision in the guitar.
