Singing and playing online with a single account?

Do I need to have 2 XBox Live accounts to play online while playing guitar and singing? I'm at work now so I can't test it until tonight so I appreciate any answer. Can the second account be a normal (silver I guess it's called) free account?

Nope, just the one account. But you'll ned two characters.

All you have to do is just use your regular account for one instrument and sign in with a guest account for the other.

You don't even need a second account at all. One gold account can allow three guests to join... well, I guess technically two, because if you have three guests, there's no room left for an online player to join you.

But, hm, you know, 4v4 tug-of-war could be crazy fun, potentially...
