Looking to buy the full works, but can only find packs with the Hoffner bass in. As i'm a guitarist I fancy the Gretsch or Rickenbacker but I just wondered if there are any packs for sale with those in instead of the bass?
Anyone know?
Thanks everyone

The only official bundle involving a guitar is the Hofner in the LE Bundle. Individual places may be doing some sort of deal with a Rick or Gretsch and the game in one deal, but I haven't seen anything about it on the boards and a game + guitar bundle hasn't been announced by HMX.

Even if you're a guitarist, the bass will fully function as a guitar - it has solo keys and a whammy bar.
If you're just worried about the look of you playing guitar with a bass-style controller, but still want the Ludwig drum kit you'll have to buy the bundle and get a guitar separately.
Sorry.

Something to consider, pay forward for the guitar of your choice...so add $100 to the price of the bundle...then put the Hofner on ebay.
Since the bundle is the only place you can get the Hofner, I am SURE they will draw a pretty price. You prolly won't get $100 flat for one but $50-70 is a pretty sure bet in the early days.

cheers guys, shame there isn't another bundle. But great idea of selling the Hoffner on ebay. Was just for looks rather than what it plays. Love that Rickenback, oh yeah !

No doubt on that one. I am considering not buying the full bundle, since I have Ion drums and don't need the ones that come in the bundle. But, I would certainly be looking to pick up a Hofner Bass on ebay or other similar site.

I want the Hoffner without the bundle. I'm sure I'm not alone in that. You'd have no problem selling it on ebay and making enough money to buy one of the other guitars.

Yeah, that's what I was going to say. The Hofner is only available in the bundle and there's people who want one of those without having to buy the whole thing.

I find it wierd that they would package the bass in the bundle instead of one of the guitars. It just reeks of Paul's egotisical ways rearing their ugly head again especially since John and George aren't around anymore to veto the idea.

It reeks of most game guitars not being basses and of it being the most recognizeable Beatle-used guitar, luring people to buy the bundle.

Personally, I think the bass guitar looks the nicest of the three. :) You should definitely sell it on eBay if you don't want it though.

So wait...for the ease of packing and shipping the bundles they have to be the same across the board. So if thats the case, you put a guitar in there instead of the bass, how do you decide which one, the Rick or the Gretsch? One group of fans or the other would ***** about it either way...so, why not put the bass in the bundle? Its the odd instrument out anyway and in my opinion, its due.

It definitely makes the bundle more unique I'll give you that. I think Paul's bass being the most reconizable Beatles guitar is debatable though. All I'm saying is if John and George were still around I don't think they would have liked the idea.

If you've been friends with a guy for years who works at Gamestop, tell him to swap a guitar with the bass, and sell the bass out-of-the-box to some bass lover like I am.

The bundle was likely assembled by Harmonix or MTV Games. Saying no could have made John or George look egotistical. I believe the hofner is the most recognizable cuz its shape is the most unique. Ricks and Gretches are in lots of bands. A couple tours ago, McCartney would start his concert with a giant silhouette of the Hofner to wild applause (tho that would have happened anyway) and the crowds always cheer when he breaks it out. The closest I can think to that is The Edge and his Explorer, but the crowd never cheers his guitar.
