I have been wanting to play 4 player since i got rock band but have been unable to. Do they sell Rock Band guitars by themselves? If so where can I get one? I was considering getting a GH3 guitar (although i probably wouldnt even bother with the game). Literally im waiting for the patch to be available so i can go give money to Activision and buy one of their guitars. But besides that is there any other option for a ps3 player wanting to play 4 player besides buying another rock band bundle?

Single guitars are not on the market yet....should be in early 08.......as for getting 4 players see if one of your buddy's has the bundle and bring your guitar to thier house or vise versa thats your only option right now.

On Launch day we were disappointed along with everyone else that the LP did not work as promised, so we ran to Wal-mart, and grabbed another complete bundle, and were 4 player since day one.
It is a good thing, both guitars have been replaced, both kick pedals, and now a mic.
Head to head drum offs are cool, and spare parts are great to have.
No regrets, best $350 we ever spent.
Nothing like having a full band in action.

350 is a **** load of money though, especially since im paying for it all by myself. if i was living in a frat house or something and splitting it it wouldnt be bad. But seriously, short of buying another bundle there is no way to play ps3 4 player? (not online) id be willing to bet there arent that many people playing 4 player on ps3 right now. what a shame

Yea, 350 is a lot, but when you are 46 and have friends with some money, and as commited as we are to this game, it is not a problem.
Unless you want to get another guitar through the warranty system ($125), then it will probably be a month or two more for the guitars to be available for retail purchase.
Sucks I know, but unfortunatly that is what us PS3 owners are forced with.

If you don't know anybody who has another PS3 RB bundle, you'll have to wait until next year. Only other way is to go online.

When I first heard of RB releasing a bundle with all the instruments I just assumed there would be 2 guitars in it for some reason. I was disappointed that there was no way to get a second guitar. And to top it off, my guitar started giving out just a few hours after unboxing it. I RMA'd it but with the holiday and shipping delays, I decided to fix my guitar myself.... and fix it I did.
Since I got my replacement I've been trying to get in as much 4 player as possible. I'm still debating whether keeping it is a good option, because they'll charge me a ridiculous amount--$125 is what people keep saying--and I could just drop an extra $50 and get a whole 'nother complete set of instruments and a second game for a friend or to sell on ebay. Or I could just suck it up and do 3 player until the guitars are available in stores.... I can't decide! If only they announced when the guitars would be available for sure. If it's like March then I'm keepin' it or buying a second bundle. If it's before mid-January then I'll wait.

I am not in front of my game right now and was wondering if someone could try this out and let me know if it works.
I was talking with a buddy of mine who is in my band and we were wondering if multiple mics would work at the same time (like a back up singer kind of deal) It might help us with my buddies wife who wants to be the singer (but has some skill as a bassist) and my wife who wants to be the singer but has no desire to play another instrument in front of friends.
Please someone try this for me...let me know.

Screw that... We are still with three. I am definitely not buying another package. My first guitar was broken, ordered a new one, and guess what.... its not working proper either.
These people need to get their **** together, because this is rediculous.

NO, there's no backup singing or additional instrument of any type in Band Quickplay or Band World Tour.
There are Vs. options for instruments, and I assumed 2 mic's would be an option, but never tried it. I'm of the opinion that it's all about co-op, and Vs. is lame. Yet another reason I never got into Guitar Hero.

Yeah, it's bad. But I don't think Harmonix is entirely to blame. I'm sure they came up with the design of how they wanted the guitar to look, feel, and operate. Some engineer (whether EA, Hmx, MTV, or outsourced, who knows) came up with how the internals would work, and someone else was in charge of manufacturing. Those last 2 dropped the ball, not the guys that designed the game.

OK, we may have figured out how to do it but we'll have to go home first. If we get it to work we'll let you know how.
