As someone that picked up the RB2 bundle last week ($99)
im starting to have second thoughts about picking up all
TB:RB stuff ($450ish) when im just not sure if my friends/family
are going to be interested in playing the game, and i dont want
two sets of drums.

That lead me to think, is TB:RB SE Bundle REALLY "limited"?
or will there be enough to go around?

I think there will come a time where the only TB:RB bundles you will be able to find are second hand or procured through clandestine means.

It's impossible to know. Maybe they'll make them truly limited since they are unique instruments and the game itself is an off-shoot of the "main" product line, maybe they'll keep them in production as long as they're selling enough to justify it. But you can't know for sure.

Only you can know if it's truly worth spending release-day money on this stuff. I mean for me, there is no hesitation. I'm buying it all and will be happy to do it. But if doubt is entering your mind, then maybe you should think it over. There will obviously be enough to go around within the window of release, but after that who knows? Personally I hope that this stuff truly is limited, and that after the Christmas season the bundles/instruments more or less disappear from stores.

I hope the bundles remain on the shelves for some time, as I think these instruments will be a good upgrade for the Rock Band proper. The bass guitar is especially cool (no more bass on a Strat!) and the drum set is looking to be more handy than the previous incarnations.

Making this stuff limited just means less people having fun.

all I know is I'm getting it but for sure the instruments will be rare someday guaranteed

Technically they could produce something for entire years and it would still be "limited" ... just the limit would be really high.

I imagine what improvements were made to the beatle instruments will carry over into RB3 equipment.
