Hey guys, so I was playing Guitar Hero: On Tour Decades (haha, I actually like them) and this Fall Out Boy song was on it, and I actually thought it was pretty good, and I checked out the music video.
In the video, they show all their fans telling them they hate them and how they changed, I was like "WTF??? This is weird" and was wondering how they feel about how it's cool to hate them now.
I think you should guys should watch the video and listen to the song, I actually liked it.
The Take Over, The Breaks Over - Fall Out Boy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zElEs8yw7fw)
I kind of feel bad for them...
What do you guys think?

They're a good band. But people hate on them usually without listening to anything by them.
I do feel bad for the guys too.
I really like Patrick Stump's singing.
Like the "I Don't Care" song on rock band. My friend [Derek] said that the song was actually fun to sing. And I have yet to hear him say that about a bunch of other songs on RB.

There are still a couple of songs from them that I'd like in Rock Band.

Well I think I Don't Care was pretty clear about that :)

I thought Fall Out Boy was kinda bleh in their inception, and with their earliest albums from that. Just another band riding on the current popular wave.
But I dunno, they've changed a lot in recent years and sort of have found their own groove. I'm not really a fan of them, but I have been sorta surprised at how they've changed and developed like that. Their singer has a particularly unique style that goes all over the place genre-wise, it is a touch impressive.
Just think back to your guy's skeezy metal bands that all started off as hair metal bands and quiety hid that aspect of themselves as they moved in in their ages prior to the internet.

The video seemed more like a cry for attention to me. Why not just suck it up and deal with it since there are bound to be people that dislike your music?
The song itself was pretty decent. I might have to listen to it a few more times.

I'm not crying about it, I was just sad for them.

Fall Out Boy didn't really sell out, imo. They found their own place.

I'm soo jealous that GH is getting "Thnks fr th Mmrs" and "Sugar, We're Goin Down". Hopefully we'll get a pack soon with those and the ever rumored "Dance, Dance"!!

As someone who's been to a Fall Out Boy concert before, they are amazing live, their music is great (although overrated), I just can't understand why they are hated so much. Also, if you're a straight single male... definitely go to a Fall Out Boy concert, so many girls :o

The more the merrier! Me and my (other) dude friends were talking about wanting to see Paramore for a similar reason.
Although I can see it backfiring much like the nude beaches in EuroTrip. (Where all the nude beaches are full of nude men looking for women).

hahaha nope, I went to Fall Out Boy with my friends Wilson, Alanna, and Brittany and I swear Wilson and I were the only single guys there. That's what happens when you go mainstream :p I went for their Take This To Your Grave and From Under the Cork Tree stuff but Alanna and Brittany got me into Infinity On High. The concert was phenominal though.

Never cared for Fall Out Boy, or pop punk. Every band seems the same.
As far as Fall Out Boy, I just never really got it. I mean, maybe a song or two of theirs' is catchy, but I could never bring myself to buy a record. The thing that mostly keeps me away is the vocals, whoever does them in the band.
Anyway, for all I know, their singles and real popular songs are terrible compared to their other stuff, but at this point, I'm just not interested.
Just me.

I love the guitar in that song, simple but really fun. I heard it through GH:OT as well and learned it the next day

Drumming not only is The Take Over but in every Fall Out Boy song is very underrated. Their drummer is great and there's quite a few difficult and complex beats he plays (see: This Ain't A Scene and Dead On Arrival).

Sound pretty pop punk to me. Or alternative pop or pop or whatever. But from what I've heard, they sound like just another pop punk band.

Okay. Don't see the big deal, or even the big difference between pop rock and pop punk these days. It all sounds the same to me. I never claimed to be a genre expert, though.
(im a fan).
I can tell.

They are pop rock. They are punk in now way what so ever. And the other pop punk bands you think they sound like are most likely not pop punk at all. If you want real pop punk, listen to Teenage Bottlerocket, the Lillingtons or the Copyrights, etc...

Say whaaat? I love "Thnks fr th Mmrs", but my dislike for GH will force me to wait for it in Rock Band
I wasn't much of a FOB fan until we caught them opening for Blink-182. They were incredibly talented and polite, and played a killer cover of Don't Stop Believin', so I like them now

Those are their two stronger albums. Infinity On High wasn't bad but it was really poppy. Folie à Deux is really good, they went back to their older sound for it.

Nope, it sounds very similar to From Under the Cork Tree with the exception of America's Suitehearts.

Fall Out Boy is one of the best bands ever. They will always have a place in my heart as the best band ever.
From Under The Cork Tree is one album that I would buy in it's entire state as DLC.
