updated on ps3 now cant play

I updated the PS3 last night and downloaded a couple of songs from the sony store. After they installed and the system rebooted it will now not recognise my guitar or drums and keeps telling me i need to plug in a mic. I've had this game for over a year and have never had problems until I updated last night, and I have never used the mic.

Any ideas would be great! Was hoping to hit the drums to my new Shinedown song.

Saw in another thread that the updates screws up the instruments. Read that I need to manually assign instruments to controller numbers.....how do I do this?

Once you've started the game, hit the PS button on your controller. That will take you to the XMB, where you can reassign the controller numbers.
