I always pre-order, but it looks like I'm gonna have to do it the old-fashioned way on 9-9-9.
Waking up early and getting myself a copy when the doors open :p
Anyone in the same predicament?

Bundle or the game alone?
I've never known a standalone disc to be "sold out". Ever. Maybe EB Canada just really sucks or something.

I tried to preorder the game a couple of days ago At EB games and they said that they "sold out" of preorders. Oh, and the guy I was talking to Barely Knew anything about the game, he was such an ass.

Go to a different store. Every store has a pre-set number of preorders copies they know they're going to receive. The store you went to obviously has reached that number.
The first Gamestop I tried yesterday had the same problem. The 2nd Gamestop had plenty available.

Why not preorder as soon as possible? I preordered a few days after the first trailer came out.

To those saying Future and Best Buy, can we even get Pre-Orders there?
And I'm looking for a bundle pre-order btw.

Financial priorities?
You know, car payment, insurance, rent, utility bills... that sort of thing.
Or funding a wedding, you never know.
On the other hand, some people are justifiably hesitant to pre-order anything given the bone job that has sometimes resulted to people who tie up their down payment in good faith, only to be let down on release day.
I finally preordered today at Gamestop and didn't have any availability issues. Fortunately, my brother-in-law is the district manager for that store, so if they screw me over you can bet he'll hear about it.

I'm in Vancouver and I've got a pre-order with BestBuy.
You might have to do it online rather than in store though.

Ugh, that causes a problem.
I don't have a credit card. I can't do anything online. Only retail.

Anybody can purchase a VISA gift card and use that online to pay for something as a credit card. You don't have to actually own a credit card to pay for things online.

Can a 16 year old get that?

Can a 16 year old get that?
Yes. I've seen them sold at Walgreen's, CVS and grocery stores. It is basically a pre-paid Visa that you can use anywhere Visa is accepted. In this case, BestBuy.com. :)

Well, it's kinda just 5 bucks. And also, you don't HAVE to get it afterwards. One time I preordered a game and never got it, then next time I went in they gave me 5 bucks back.

TB:RB should still be available for pre ordered at all major game retailers. Individual retail locations may have different allotments, and just because they're not taking pre orders now that doesn't mean they won't be changing their numbers in the next few days. Unfortunately we're not able to control the ordering policies of individual stores.
But all major games and retail chains are still accepting pre ordered for TB:RB. Keep checking in with local retailers and get ready for 9.9.09!

True enough - I guess it depends on the product and the merchant. I know that my local Gamestop was asking for a 10% deposit to reserve TB:RB stuff, so I had to put $25 down for the bundle and at least $10 for the guitar.
I have previously asked for my money back on preorders when they did not arrive as promised, but I'm always cautious about putting down any money on something unless I'm confident that it will arrive on time and/or I can get a refund if desired. Shouldn't be a problem in this case, because it's one of my brother-in-law's stores, but I've heard enough horror stories of poor service at Gamestop locations (ask Tycho from Penny Arcade, for instance).

Unfortunatly, I want the bundle, I'm in Canada, I'm on the Wii (which is the one that surprised me to hear is the one getting the most pre-orders) and to top that, I'm in QUEBEC.
Everything is against me to get that game. And here in Quebec, the only place I can pre-order is EB Games. I don't think Pre-Orders can be made in Future Shop or Best Buy.
My only option is getting at any store at like 5am or something on 9-9-9.
When I got my Wii last year, I had to stand in front of a Maxi in the cold winter for 2 hours. But I got what I wanted.

Yeah, they have the little $5 preorder cards in the video game section. It'd be 5 pounds or whatever it is you guys use. ;) :p

Called Best Buy, Future Shop and Toys R' Us (I pre-ordered Super Smash Bros with them)
Best Buy: Can't. They say you can't pre-order with them.
Future Shop: Same.
Toys R' Us: Don't even take their calls.

BTW, Kiggidykev's pulling your leg... or didn't you notice he's in Winterpeg?

I think Woodwind was playing with me by saying pounds, because since Quebec is a french "colony", and France uses "Livres", then pounds was his way of saying we are France's little pets. :p
And no, we say dollars.

Not the same way we do. To hear it pronounced, you'd think it was a different word entirely.
The word "Dollar" comes from the Dutch "thaler". It definitely doesn't rhyme with "bowler".

Sorry that Canadian stores don't have the same pre-order options as the US. I would honestly chill out and stop obsessing about having to preorder the game. Just go to the stores when they open. If they are already sold out I'm sure you will find the game within a day or two anyways.

Indeed. If you can't preorder, don't worry - no one else in your area can, either.
All you need to do is get to your favorite store early enough and you should be able to get a copy or a bundle.

Lily - this worries me a little. I pre-ordered with Best Buy online. Supposed to be able to pick up at a local store of my choosing on 09/09/09. Instead of a shipping option, you can choose in-store pickup.
Now I'll be sweating, waiting for the notification e-mail....
Sorry the Canadian stores don't have the pre-order...
EDIT: Canadian stores have preorder option online, but not in-store pickup. Would have to choose a shipping option. Boo.

Yeah, it's just that Quebec has the law that if the instruction manual isn't in French, or has a french version, the game cannot be sold unless it has been pre-ordered, because by doing so you are agreeing that you just want the english version.
I'll just go in front of a store and get it first thing in the morning. Otherwise, the law will come in play and I'll be screwed for 3 months like my friends were with RB2.

Well, I can't pre-order because too many pre-orders were filled.
And I do hope they have TB:RB Bundles in sale. If I use the same logic as last year, even though I pre-ordered the RB2 bundle, there were some bundles in sale for customers to buy.
HeadHunter67

I can understand a bilingual province, but that law sounds like they're discriminating against Anglophones. Quebec hasn't belonged to France in quite some time.
By that logic, everything sold in the USA should be labeled in Navajo.

i didnt think eb were doing pre-orders i thought they were paying more attention on COD:MW2 instead
