The false metal kiddies have their fun on GH3 with Slipknot and Disturbed, and on Rock Band with the new In Flames (which is some metalcore crap and not worthy of my time) so I want some true, extreme METAL.

The true means staying away from as I Lay Dying, Norma Jean, and so on.
The extreme means staying away from Pantera, Lamb of God, and other not-extreme bands.

I want some Immortal (Anything from their second and third albums, though Mighty Ravendark is my choice), Venom (the entire At War With Satan song, nearly 20 minutes, or the whole Welcome to Hell/Black Metal albums), Deicide (who recently destroyed As I Lay Dying in an MTV poll), Cannibal Corpse (keep dreaming...), Behemoth (The Apostasy album would be killer), etc. etc.

I need some black or death metal to growl or roar to. None of this ***** screaming bullshiat!

...and I do have at least one non-extreme suggestion: Mastodon. Crusher Destroyer or The Wolf Is Loose would be killer, but some other choice tracks would be Circle of Cysquatch, Iron Tusk, and March of the Fire Ants.

Still, there's nothing on this game that represents my two dominant tastes: black and death metal.

Gotta have a little bit of something for everyone, right?

Honestly, I've never heard of any of these bands...but then metal doesn't impress me.

Edit: Ok, so I YouTubed most of those bands, and honestly...I hated every song I heard. Like it if you want, but to me...that is terrible.

Yeah, Iron Maiden, Jethro Tull, Metallica, and Motley Crue are the only metal bands I like.

If that stuff came out, you'd be one of the 5 people to buy it.

I am not much into the Growl or Scream thing. I like something with a melody. But I would think they would come out with something for the Death and Black Metal fans. I usually like the guitar playing but like I said before just can't get into the Growl.

If you like that kind of music check out the Australian band Mortification. For some reason I liked them, go figure. Just their early stuff.

I'm more of a punk fan myself, but I really like a lot of Venom's early material - Countess Bathory was actually the first song I learned how to play on bass. "Black Metal" (the whole album) deserves to be a full album DLC, because black metal deserves some representation in the game. Now, if I could only convince HMX to release a goth rock pack...

I don't know dude. I think death metal fans number higher than you might think. It falls into the same category as country or any other genres you might not listen too. It's human nature; if you don't particularly like or listen to a particular style of music, you usually don't don't know the fan base or you underestimate it.

I know that's true in my case. I listen to country mostly so I don't know a lot about other styles. However, I have watched a lot of videos of metal, rap, and Christian rock and a lot of the videos are live shows and the stands are packed. That tells me there is a definite following.

You might be surprised how well they sell. Will I download death metal, probably not...at least not until I listen to it elsewhere and determine whether I like the song or not.

Deicide has something like 60,000 fans on MySpace and Cannibal Corpse has over 100,000. Both bands have albums that have sold over 100,000 copies (Deicide possesses two).

If there are only five people who wish to purchase it, fine by me: but I'm one of them. I'm just saying, what I listen to is black/death metal and there's none of it here.

...and not Melodic Death Metal like Dethklok either (although I do like them a lot).

I want to roar and growl. I want to shred my fingers off. I want the drummer to die of exhaustion.

That is not extreme compared to this:

Also: that song has what I would call shredding in it. ;)

As I Lay Dying sounds like a grindcore wannabe. Check this vid:

It's like a slower version of this:

Neither are metal! Funny huh?!
