What is a good manufacturing date on the rock band box?

I was in circuit city today and saw some PS3 and Xbox 360 rockband special editions with dates of 11/08/2007 and 11/06/2007...are these using the latest fixed guitars and drums?

These just came in this week...I also went to best buy and saw about 20 rockband special editions with these dates also.

There were also yellow stickers saying if you have problems call EA or something like that.

Those are good dates A couple of weeks ago I found some bundles at BestBuy with the 11/02 and 11/03 dates. I'm guessing next week we should be seeing the last best bundles before christmas. The one I have at home has the 10/22 date :( lame!!

Not so sure about that. I just got one dated 11/06 from Amazon, and the guitar is awful. Overdrive comes on for no reason and the strum bar is already flaking out. I can't believe after spending $350 for an XBox 360 and another $170 for this game I'm going to have to drop another $90 for GH2. Ugh!

6/1/2008- No way they fixed all of the manufacturing defects yet.

they became aware of most issues within 24 hours of Nov 20th. I wouldn't expect any boxes from Sept,
Oct or Nov to be 100%. Dec boxes would be the first to have any real possible fixes.

I am using a December dated box and the drums were broken out of the box. Although its not the usual problem, for some reason my drums aren't detected on the PS3.

you sure its a Dec box? It seems to me there is a 5-6 week delay from boxed to store. Most people right now are reporting Nov dated boxes. I just bought my brother RB for xmas from ToyRus and it is dated 11-8.

I have an 11/6 bundle, got it on Wed, and my down strum is already pretty much dead.

Well that's discouraging. Any chance you know if you have the 2nd gen magnetic strum mechanism or the old metal contact kind?

It makes sense to believe that the later the data on the box, the better the quality of the bundle. You don't think they are going to make worst products? Though, there may still be cases where a bundle is messed up by error, but in a very minor percentage. I am shooting for Dec 23 as my last day to try to get the best bundle before Christmas.

I was also thinking about having a backup bundle in the car just in case I get a bad one. You don't wanna spoil a christmas by giving a piece of crap gift :D

I think i am gonna do the same thing...look for a december build of Rock Band this friday through christmas eve. I am looking for a PS3 version...so it should be a bit easier to find. If only Harmonix could tell us which dates are good with the good equipment. I want to buy a rock band but i want it to work. If all else i will wait till march and i should get a good bundle then...

My 11/08/2007 bundle has intermittant downstrum and red/green drum pad. 10-12 hours of play time on the guitar, maybe an hour on the drums, it was never quite right .. cause I don't suck as bad as my score did :)

I bought today a 11/19/2007 bundle at Target for the PS3, which I think it is the latest bundle I've seen around my city. Has anybody seen any bundles newer that that?

I just got my preorder up in Toronto from EB and it had a date of Nov. 18th on the box I believe. My guitar is working great so far (I really like the strat overall, it feels way better to me than the old guitars), other than the fact that the tilt sensor for overdrive is a little too sensitive for me. The only problem I had with the drums is some trouble getting it to register fast rolls, particularly on the red pad. However, I applied CigDangle's foam/felt mod to the pads and not only did it quiet them down significantly, but they actually register properly now. My bass pedal has a few small cracks starting to show (I play mostly on hard and my brother plays on expert, so we use the pedal quite a bit), however I'm reinforcing it with a metal plate shortly, so it should be fine.

I don't want to sound pessimistic, but there is a good chance that you might encounter some problems with the guitar and maybe the drums. Just be sure to send it in to EA for a replacement if anything is defective. BTW, the latest manufacturing date that I have seen in my area is 11-20-07.

I find that IMPOSSIBLE since 11/23 was Black Friday! There is no way it was packaged, shipped and sold to a consumer on the same day.

11/14 My guitar will not active overdrive unless i press the back button. Like this out of the box.
