You can strum with the up and down button on the D-Pad. When I hooked it up to my computer, I realized they had the same output. Tested it on Rock Band and it works! Just thought I'd post it just in case someone can find it helpful. Anyone who's strum bar doesn't work at all? =D.

you can alsouse the buttons on the drums instead of the pads. pretty good for when the guitar doesnt work

Yeah, except the D-pad on both my guitar and drums are almost completely unresponsive.
Still better than the strum bar? Yes
