Hey, I'm an avid Rock Band player in Europe, the Netherlands to be exact, I've always imported the games (RB1 and 2) from Canada so I could buy DLC with US PSN Cards I bought from Ebay because I don't have a credit card to buy DLC in the EU Store.
But I've always bought the instruments, the RB instrument pack to be exact here because otherwise the delivery costs would be huge, and there probably would be import taxes.
As my GH3 guitar broke down recently I only have my RB1 strat, Ion Drums (sold my original RB1 drums) and my mic.
Now with the Beatles Rock Band I want to buy a new extra guitar to go with it, but I can only find the Limited Edition value pack for 250 euros that includes a guitar, mic, drums and the game.
Since I don't need a new drum set and I can buy mics for cheap anyway, I'm looking to buy a seperate guitar/bass controller for the Beatles Rock band. But I can't find it anywhere only or in stores, all they have is either the seperate game, or the complete value pack for 250 euros, they don't even have any Beatles guitars seperately!
So anybody know why they don't sell them here? Or have any good web shops with cheap delivery to buy seperate guitars (preferably within Europe so I don't have to pay any taxes).
It's for PS3 btw.
Thanks in advance!
Rock on!

Game UK is selling the Gretsch Duo Jet and the Rickenbacker 325 separately for all systems. 90 pounds each.

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm also in The Netherlands and I just want the game and the Gretsch guitar. Don't order it from the UK. The cheapest option I found was to order it from Amazon.de. It's about 89 euro's, a lot cheaper than the UK versions and best of all.. Amazon.de has free shipping to The Netherlands (I didn't even know that before). Plus, it usually takes no more than 1 or 2 days for their stuff to arrive here.
Hope this helps.

Looks like your in a similar situation to me. My problem is none of the respectable online retailers will ship to Australia including Amazon :( If you have a paypal account look on eBay for the guitar. I don't know about the EU but here Paypal doesn't require a credit card, they can take funds direct from your bank account. Or get a debit card from Visa or Mastercard so you can order from Amazon, that's the type of card I have, it works like a credit card but the money comes out of your savings account and is NOT credit.

yeah, same here in germany. Exept amazon there seems to be no vendor that wants to order the expensive accessories, since Rock Band 1 and 2 flopped so bad over here. They see it as risky business and expect Guitar Hero 5 to sell much better. So they ordered like a zillion GH 5s but only up to 10 Beatles Rock Band standalone discs (like gamestop in Berlin).
The most common phrase you can hear about it is " no one effin' cares about the beatles, they are so old. Who would want to play taht piece o' sh...."
And to make it worse, there is only two german speaking online magazines that made previews about the game, although a lot of people saw HMX's presentation in munich - a shame!
And there is a big issue about a german print magazine that reviewed (!) TB RB without having a full game. They gave their rating by the impression they had on the presentation and gave a rating of 8.1 out of 10. With a 6 out of 10 in graphics. RIDICULOUS!!!

I'm in the Netherlands too, but my dad pre-ordered the game for my birthday, so I have absolutely no idea if he's just buying the game, the limited edition bundle or the game and a special separate guitar.
If he decided to buy the value pack, I think I'm gonna be sad. And I think it's today.
...Sorry, couldn't resist.
But anywho, thanks to the info on here, I'll know where to buy standalone Beatles gear.
Sorry, my reply was kinda useless, but the "Netherlands" thing drew my attention.

I'm in the Netherlands too, I ordered the LE bundle. But it was 199 euros, not 250, like in your post...

I think that the showing that we we at our booth at Gamescom was really positive and it showed that people (even people in Germany) still care about The Beatles. It's one thing playing demos at a McCartney show in Boston and having kids sing along with their parents, and we weren't sure how it would translate to a community event in Europe. But you saw the people that came out and played with us that weekend, and I think it's a testament to the relevance of The Beatles and their message.

Hey HMXHenry, why doesn't Harmonix sell the guitars on the RB site itself for those of us in countries where the instruments are hard to get. I remember back in the day GH1's guitars where available on the GH site back when they where hard to come by. I'm going to have to get the Rickenbacker from eBay since no reputable online stores will sell it to me.

I totally agree, Rock Band has had a very hard start in Europe (in Holland anyway), the original game wasn't available till 6 months after it launched in the US, and only the dedicated gameshops sold it, there was no marketing whatsoever for the game, and Guitar Hero World Tour, being the big succes Harmonix created, was coming out a few months after it.
A big games store (media markt) also signed deals with Activision only to sell Guitar Hero World Tour and not Rock Band, and Rock Band 2 also wasn't released until a few months after the US release, without any of the RB2 instruments!
So now with The Beatles Rock Band, I was hoping something was finally going to happen, it did a bit: a lot of people I know have heard about The Beatles Rock Band and I didn't even need to tell them about it. We are getting new RB2 instruments, although it's only in the limited edition value pack, but RB2 drums are still a big improvement over RB1 ones that a lot of people still play with (the ion drums are available here as well, but 300 euros is still a lot of money for a game).
That's why I think it's so strange that EA/HMX still aren't really going all-out on this one, people that don't have any rhythm games yet will buy the limited edition pack, but that only has one guitar! How are they going to get another guitar to go with it? There aren't any seperately sold RB/Beatles guitars here.
It's hard to get them even if you want to import them from another country because you have to take import taxes into account and most important of all you need a credit card, in the US everybody has a credit card, but here nobody has, especially not the young target group Rock Band has.

hey, You don't have to tell me, I saw it myself, I was there at gamescom and even interviewed some in the queue.
What I quoted there was a mix of gamestop customers, gamestop employees and even my (soon to be ex-) editor in chief, who even complained that your TBRB booth was much too loud, flooding the neighboring EA floor with sh**ty old music. These are NOT MY WORDS!
I had positive reactions on it as well. Yesterday I met a couple sitting in a Bar who cought some phases of me talking to my (maybe soon to be) next editor in chief about music games. And they were all excited about it and wanted me to tell them all the details. So, sure there are ppl who care about it. My father went nuts after the second trailer. my Girlfriend is in beatlemania right now and can't wait for the game... but that are just the ppl surrounding me, that have to hear how excited I am all the time ;)
Still, maybe you want to take a look at my other thread showing how "Media Markt" in Berlin treats Rock Band, and how employees there talk about your brand.
I don't really think that people dislike Rock Band just for the name. I think there are a lot of issues in terms of marketing and presentation in europe.
