So me and everyone I play with are pretty new to these types of games and I was just curious, what are the notes on guitar (only instrument I've noticed this on) that are smaller than normal. They defenitely aren't as wide as the other. Do these have a different function?

hammer ons. you dont need to strum those notes as long as you strummed the first large size note correctly. just press the correct frets.
