Why did they put Boys instead of Hey Jude will baffle me forever.
I don't get it. I guess more Ringo songs, but damn. That song isn't very good. I like it, but I don't listen to it.

I've seen scattered reports/quotes that Boys was a very popular number for Ringo to sing back in the ol' touring days. Fun trivia: Ringo sang Boys while with Rory Storm and the Hurricanes, and Pete Best sang Boys when he was in the Beatles (it was essentially the drummer's song for the band).

I have a theory on this..
They were working with the 2 track masters at that point, and separating out those 2 tracks for the game is a very expensive and time consuming thing to do apparently. If they put as many as those tracks on disc it will get them the most for the effort, consider that most people would probably buy Hey Jude were it released as a download.
Their later songs would probably get bought a lot more in general than the earlier one so it's also smart to put them on disc for that reason.
Could be wrong, probably am wrong, but still thinking.

Don't ya know I mean boys
Lol, but seriously, I actually really like Please Please Me. Its my favorite of the early albums.

you answered your own question. For another Ringo song.
And besides it's not a fair comparison anyway as you're talking about a Cavern Club song vs. a dreamscape song. Take out a dreamscape song and substitute it for Hey Jude instead.

And by the way, Boys is one of the best songs on Please Please Me.

...What did I say? Does people understand joking if I don't put "Just Kidding" at the end of the message?

Let's see what happens were you to do that.

Just kidding!

Just kidding!
First of all, it doesn't make sense. Not to mention the fact that I usually look for the funny when I look for jokes, might be why I missed the connection.

This song sucks indeed. If they must have an early cover that isn't sung by John/Paul... Roll Over Beethoven!

Oh come on, "Boys" is a good vocal performance by Ringo.
He actually put more emotion in it than in let's say, "Don't Pass Me By".
Or, that's the way it sounds to me.

Yeah ok, Boys is terrible, the OP is a great friend of mine and he's right.
Now I'm polite. ;)

I happen to think Boys kicks ass. Didn't use to like it much when I was younger, but re-listening to it now makes me realize how good Ringo's singing is, and what a fun song this will be to play (and sing, if you dare!)
I wouldn't have thought it'd be a good candidate for TB:RB, to be honest. But it does make sense.
Can't wait to hear the remastered mono version through my headphones in full blast.

At least it's better than I Wanna Be Your Man. Neither are bad though.

You might want to revisit this bit from the POC interview between Alex and Giles:
Giles: And we also added and crossed out songs with just thinking of different scenarios for the game itself. I mean, we have Cavern Club, Shea Stadium, Budokan, and we wanted to make sure we represented those eras in the right way. There were so many different forces working to choose this song list. I'm very happy with what we've ended up with. I think it's a good representation of what [The Beatles] have done. But, you know more to come I suppose…
Alex: It’s an incredible list of 45 songs, but one of the opportunities of downloadable content is that [there is] great music that didn't make the initial cut, or wasn't appropriate for game disc for one reason or another, and we will have an opportunity to deliver that music in interactive form to the players of the game subsequent to the disc's release.
And finally, here's a great thread, largely already covering the topic of song wants and wishlists:

Feel free to post comments/thoughts/discussion in there. And let's keep it productive and polite, thanks.
