I don't know if this bothers anyone else but Mountain's Mississippi Queen is labeled in Rock Band as Southern Rock.

Mountain is from Long Island New York. Last time I checked New York isn't... the south.

It doesn't matter where the band is FROM, it matters what type of music it is. Would you call a country song hip-hop if the band is from South Central LA? What about a calling a hip-hop song a country song because the rap group is from North Dakota?

Foo Fighters are labeled as Classic Rock, even though the song is from the 90s...

Just accept it for what it is.

I think you need more important things to bother you than how a song is classified.

The song does mention Vicksburg, which is in Mississippi, which is in the south.

And I never noticed the Foos as classic rock. Haha.

Its a Style...One that resembles Lyrnyrd Skynyrd...Which would explain why its labeled as "Southern Rock"

Mountain is about as much a southern rock band as Black Sabbath is.

Mountain is about as much a southern rock band as Black Sabbath is.

But song sounds very southern rock-y.

Yeah anybody can play southern rock and Mississippi Queen really toes the line between southern and classic. But I have always considered Mountain as a band to be southern rock.

I can't sing that song for beans.
