Chatting on Rock Band

I have been having problems trying to chat with my headset on the instruments other than the microphone. Supposedly i should be able to use the adapter and connect my headset on the drums, guitar and bass in order to chat as normal. But the microphone is not working through the system. It is not my headset because i can still chat if i connect to my regular controller. Please a little help and insight with this problem.

I'm having the same exact problem, mine doesn't even work when I plug it into a regular controller...I end up being only able to hear other people online when plugged into the controller but not being able to talk back to them.

I really wish HMX would address this issue, unless I'm missing a topic where they have, cause I have never been able to chat with anyone online and it tends to get annoying not being able to...hopefully they will eventually.
