How many drum pedals have you broken?

I've broken two. I'm just now getting to the mid-to-high level of songs on hard difficulty. The bass drum is starting to get used very aggressively...and I basically think I'm gonna brake the pedal at the rate of 1 per week. RB has been good about sending replacement parts quickly...but there's gotta be a better solution (from both their and my perspective).
I think they goofed using plastic instead of aluminum or some other metal.

Where did it break for you? Mine broke at the base of the pedal. I really thing they should make the pedal more solid there. Because it's where the pedal works the most physically.

Well.. I can't get a replacement because I live in Canada. :(

You sure it's not how you're playing it? Because I play on hard and expert (this same pedal has been through several RB parties), and mine isn't cracking or showing any signs of breaking and it has been played a LOT...
