Why do you people mention GH5 sooo much? Really..?

If it's soooo bad, then why mention about it if The Beatles dominated over their commercial? As you state.

Sex sells.

...But who's buying?

That would be most Males between the age of 13 and 33

Now, I mean I don't mind Playboy Bunnies at all, but used in a GH5 ad with the SAME Risky Buisiness Rip-off. (Which was never funny), it's just stupid AND misleading. There is NOTHING sexy about Guitar Hero

inb4 LOLCASEYLYNCHISHOTTLULZ

The Original GHIII commercial where Slash came out of the guy...now that was badass

These Risky Business commercials are getting really old, real fast. Well, at least the The Beatles commercial is x10 classier than this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBw7nYsHk6Q&feature=related). Seriously, wtf? Which group is a commercial with "naked" chicks and a fat guy jiggling appealing to?

If it were Guitar Hero: The Beatles, it would be them doing the same thing. Thank God Harmonix is creative and original

The GH Playboy ad being done like the Risky Business parody yet again is like hearing a joke for the eighth time in a row.

I feel bad for what I imagine to be the one person in charge of GH's television marketing.

I saw this last night on tv & was just thinking "what the hell?"

As if a free Van Halen game wasn't bad enough, now playboy playmates?
& it's the same damn commercial, why do GH keep advertising songs in their commercials that aren't even in the game?

I have no problem with beautiful women but that's one of the lamest commercials I've ever seen.

The GH commercial is really corny, that intro is overused, and they repeated the 'mess up' to the intro of the song way too many times. They also did a bad job with the bunnies, you can't even see them really. That's just ****ty advertisement in general.

The Beatles commercial is awesome though, I love John's face when everyone walks by. The only thing they did a bad job on was the lack of gameplay and vocal advertisement.

well on the tony hawk GH:WT you only saw gameplay on the tv and they were covering it so TB:RB advert is so much better but they could have added vocals on it so i would say thats the only bad point.

the whole concept sucks. "i like variety so I have lots of women, and guitar hero which is the in the same format it always has been, where each band gets one song."

I find it interesting, being both a new RB player and older GH player, to see that on the RB forums, I open up this post and see an ammount of immaturity towards an ad for a GH game, while on the GH forums, nobody even mentions RB advertisements. Yes, I know this is my first post, but I also know a lot about both games, and it seems to me that RB has the songs, GH has gameplay. Now, if you're going to judge a game by it's advertisement, whether its used a lot or not, you should at least argue towards your game's strengths, not it's "superiority", because believe me, neither game is superior to the other.

I thought Metallica was the only decent one. The college basketball coaches didn't really make sense, but it was funny seeing Bobby Knight going "we're playing the Guitar Hero." And seeing Kirk Hammet be like "what is this?"

I've never been shown this supposedly game play superiority that GH has that GH fans claims. It's certainly not the vocals or the drums.

Eh... it remains to be seen. I didn't like the gameplay of either Guitar Hero Metallica or World Tour. I'm giving GH5 a chance.

But frankly, the ad is offensive on multiple levels. It's stupid, sexist and cheap.

Its the fact that Activision think they can sell copys of GH by saying "i like varity" with people running around with guitars in shirts how can you say the gamplay is better they havent even got the vocals right yet and the drum chart most of the time is y, y, y, y n r, y ,y its ***t .

Closet homosexuals who want to look straight :P

Anyway, it's the Beatles. If GH was handling the Beatles, they'd be forced to be "classy" as well. That said, the Risky Business commercials were old the second time, let alone the fifth (or is it sixth?) time.

The "variety" quote is the kicker. 1)There is - and always has been- more variety in Rock Band and 2) it's the same damn commercial for every new game! That's the OPPOSITE of variety.

The commercial for The Beatles: Rock Band is classy... very well put together, and a pleasure to watch on a technical level, I immediately loved it. Meanwhile, the Guitar Hero 5 commercial led to an extremely mixed reaction...

The piano intro plays, girl slides out. - Ok, I'm beyond tired of seeing this.
Piano intro plays again, two girls slide out. - Hey wait, what?
And again... - Haha, ok, this is getting kind of funny.
And AGAIN. - Holy God, when does it stop?!
And one more time. - Ok, you went from boring, to funny, to tiresome again.

Then they go about waving their instruments around, as well as their various "assets", makes sense for the market appeal I guess, but overall I'm disappointed with the commercial. Then bam, there's Hefner, suddenly the commercial has done something that will stick out in my mind.

Despite the comment about "variety", and the otherwise mostly lackluster commercial, the Hugh Hefner appearance does well to cement the ad in the viewers mind.

It's nowhere nearly as interesting and exciting as the commercial for TB:RB, but it's still got a hook that'll remind people that "Hey, another Guitar Hero game is coming out soon, guess I'd better go get that." And unfortunately, the large percentage of the population that doesn't follow the game industry or do any research about their purchases still largely believes that Rock Band is just a Guitar Hero clone. After all, why buy a copy when you can have the "original"?

It'll be exciting to see how the Beatles names changes things up this time around, however.
