I am the tech god, or at least BETTER than Harmonix or EA guys.
I FOUND THE SOLUTION TO THE MISSING NOTES!
1)Unplug the USB hub and everything in any usb ports on your XBOX.
2)Plug in only one guitar or use one GH III wireless and rock out without missing notes!
3)This works great playing solo career since you only need the guitar plugged in.
4)If you are playing multiplayer, good luck, you are GOING to miss notes until this
USB or MIC problem is fixed.
Tech guys at Harmonix / EA you should have figured this out, not me. SO
please send me a lot of money and all kinds of free stuff for doing your job!
Send me a message via my gamertag Dr Driller DDS to get in contact with
me for where to send my reward. And in the mean time, make a patch that
fixes the USB issues so we can use the mic with other instruments and solve
this problem.

it has nothing to do with the USB hub because I've never even used it yet

Try plugging your microphone into the BACK XBOX USB PORT and your guitar into
the front without using the USB hub. That WILL make you miss notes, so I guess it
has to do with the MICROPHONE being plugged in (maybe it only happens when the Mic
is in the back USB port). I did not test the MIC in the front ports.

My Microphone is still in the bag it came in and hub's in the box and my guitar missed like crazy....so try again. But yes you could work for EA Tech support, your advice is just as useless.

Try taking everything out of your USB ports. If you use MS Wireless adapter in the back USB port I guess you are screwed (but take it out for now). ONLY plug in the guitar (or use GH III wireless). So you have either zero or one front USB port being used. Now try the guitar again and you hopefully will see the game work without missing notes. I sure do now, it is like night and day. Gotta run, I finally can now go beat expert guitar because the game and xbox are not screwing me out of missing notes anymore!!

This sounds like a hardware issue, Like most PCs the USB bus is probably underpowered and is having bandwidth issues. It would be up to Microsoft to either a.) replace the hardware, or b.) possibly create a firmware update that would address the issue on a BIOS to Hardware level (which most likely wouldn't work).

I still lean towards a hardware issue with the guitars. My replacement still misses on songs with fast notes and I'm only playing on Hard. I did seem to find that for some reason if I just strummed up the whole time it would miss less notes then just strumming down the whole time. I guess Red Octane has a patent on their guitar strummer technology that doesn't allow whoever manufactures the Rock Band controllers to use it (or maybe just improve it a little)
