Ok guys, I have a draft for my team tonight, and I have a question. I want Adrian Peterson, but so does every other person with a team. Any suggestions on who else to pick? I'm thinking LT but I'm not sure how productive he'll be this year compared to past.

Brees is already going to be my first round pick. I meant for a runningback.

Ok, so i ended up with Brees for my first pick. Luckily i ended up getting first overall pick. And next i got the ravens defense.

Speaking of Fantasy teams in here I figured I'd post my team I got in my Yahoo Draft (a league me, my brothers, and friends are in).
QBs: Peyton Manning*, Matt Ryan
WRs: Andre Johnson*, Hines Ward*, Bernard Berrian*, Steve Breaston
RBs: Michael Turner*, Derrick Ward*, Jonathan Stewart
TEs: Dallas Clark*, Visanthe Shiancoe
K: Mason Crosby*, Nick Folk
DEF: Minnesota Vikings*, Green Bay Packers
All the ones with a * are my planned starters...though I may end up using Stewart more than Ward if TB does a rotating 3-Back system and maybe Breaston over Ward or Berrian depending on how often Warner targets him.

sooo you drafted brees first overall and ravens defense second?
id like to play against you in a pay league.

WTF!!! How could you not have taken Ryan Leaf with the number 1 pick??

Baltimore has some of the highest numbers on turnovers, and Brees has consistently been one of the highest rated passers the past few seasons.

You don't pick a defense anywhere near the early rounds.

i dont like brees at #1 overall and i like a defense #2 even less.

That is pretty bad. You could of gotten Baltimore D in the 8th rnd or later. Why would u not take AP with the 1st pick. WOW. To each their own. Please don't take this comment as an insult, I am just surprised is all.Didn't u say you wanted AP?
Btw, Good luck in your FF year! I love this time of year.

Defense is the second last position you draft (ahead of kicker). At least in my league, a very good week by the defense will net you at most 15 points. Therefore the point difference between good defense and average defense isn't that much. A running back second is a much smarter pick.
Banky71
09-01-2009, 11:21 AM
OK Gurus. Should I drop the Chargers D(they are my second D behind Dallas) and pick up Darren Sproles? Matt Schaub is available too but I already have Peyton Manning.
bermuddy
09-01-2009, 11:25 AM
i would actually drop the dallas D and get sproles. san diego d has 6 games against denver, oakland, and KC. dallas had games againt eagles, giants, and skins

09-01-2009, 11:31 AM
yeah depending on the size of your league you only need 1 Def and 1 Kicker. So yeah I would have to look into SD and Dallas but I would more than likely keep SD.

BTW look at this dudes team. I have never seen a worse team ever.

I'm an Eagles fan, and if I had to pick between Brian Westbrook and DeAngelo Williams, I'd clearly put Williams ahead at this moment. Westbrook is still questionable, he's not as good as he was two years ago because injuries are slowly getting to him.
DeAngelo Williams is like ranked sixth on the RB fantasy poll, and he should be ahead of Tomlinson in my opinion. Williams is younger, was way more productive last year, and is basically the offensive player next to Steve Smith, and if Delhomme (sp?) isn't having a good day, well how can Smith be productive, thus, making Williams the go to guy.

Yeah, I was impressed with Kevin Smith late last year...I actually think he's gonna help out the Lions quite a bit. He was def. puttin up some fantasy points.

With the addition of Gonzalez at TE (please tell me that's his name because basically all of my NFL stuff has left my mind today) they should be better. I mean, the Falcons have a very good QB who wont have the "sophmore slump" as some say, pretty good receivers, and a pretty damn good running back. Gonzalez (again, if that's not the new TE added, I apologize, it's left my mind today), at this point isn't a bigger fantasy pick because he's now got Ryan to throw at him, not yet. Ryan didn't pay attention all that well to his tight ends this past year, so...
bermuddy

relax. it's gonzalez.

09-03-2009, 01:18 PM
TEs: Dallas Clark*, Visanthe Shiancoe
Shiancoe might end up better than Clark. He played very well in the second half of last season, and Favre loves to throw to his TEs.

TE - Todd Heap
D - SD
K - Rian Lindell.
I had the 11th pick out of 12. Maybe I should start counting my winnings.

Yeah, my friends and I have been running a free Yahoo league for the past 10 years. We usually don't pick up a QB until the end of the first, beginning of the 2nd round. Usually RBs and highly rated WRs go first. Defense goes mid-late rounds, TEs the same, and kickers usually the last round or picked up off waivers. Though if you have some guy auto-picking (like one we had this year), it throws off the flow a little bit.
With that said, and a 10th overall pick (out of 12 teams), here's my team:
QB: Philip Rivers
RB: Chris Johnson, Kevin Smith
WR: Andre Johnson, Hines Ward
TE: Chris Cooley
RB/WR: Lance Moore
K: John Kasay
D: Tennessee
(insert bench players here)
I have Derrick Ward on my bench, but for week 1 he's up against Dallas with Moore going against Detroit, and Brees was completely on fire in pre-season. It's not the best looking team I've had, but overall I'm happy.
Bermuddy: Nice team, especially for a pay league. Hopefully Schaub can do something for you this year, and as a Bears fan I hope Hester carries you to the championship. :p

D: New York Giants.
K: John Carney.
P: Brad Maynard.

Ray Rice for Darren McFadden and Brett Favre
This seem like a fair trade? I'm thinking about vetoing it in my league since it seems too one sided.

I'm up in the air on this one so I need some help:
I give up: Braylon Edwards
I receive: Lee Evans
Should I take it or not? The big thing I'm iffy on is if last year was just a fluke for Edwards where on the other hand Evans isn't a number 1 anymore with T.O around.

i'd actually go with edwards. he has much higher upside and #1 fantasy starter potential. lee evans is a receiver on a team with trent edwards looking to him second. lee evans would be a solid #2 fantasy receiver at best.
