Quick question to anyone with the PS2 version, or HMX themselves. I am thinking about getting the PS2 version so I can swipe the guitar for my PS3 version. But I want to give the rest of the PS2 version (and my old PS2) to my brother and his family.

What I want to know is if it is possible to use 2 GH SGs the RB drums and RB mic at the same time?

This may seem like a stupid question but I am assuming you need to use one of the PS2 game ports for a dual shock controller linked to the mic, which only leaves one PS2 controller port open. I have a Multi-tap that would be going with the set up I just want to know if this will work.

Erm, where would the mic connect into a dualshock 2 controller? No where.
The mic will probably be wired to the usb/usb hub.
I doubt it will be multitap based, because the newer PS2's dont appear to support multitap anymore for some reason.

My slimline PS2 supports a multitap fine, but yeah, that IS a problem. A microphone NEEDS an accompanying controller.

Harmonix's previous PS2 games supported the multitap (Amplitude/FreQuency) and USB hubs (Karaoke Revolution) so it should be fine.

I know the mic connects to USB, but just like the PS3 version I assume the mic does not have any controls of it's own and so you would need a Dualshock controller hooked up as well, taking up one of the PS2 controller ports and leaving only one left for an old SG.

Had the game been developed by Harmonix I would trust that it works, but since it wasn't I am hoping for either verification or an official statement. Hopefully someone with and SG or two, a multi-tap and the game can test this out.

This is a funny statement considering all the problems with the PS3 version and other guitars.....

It works. The box and booklet for PS2 say that it works with the multitap.

So you'd have 2 SGs and a DualShock plugged into the multitap, and the drums and mic in the USB ports. This will work.

Why do you need a controller for the mic in the PS2 version? There's nothing to do besides play the songs. Couldn't someone with a guitar scroll through the menu and setlist to pick the song you want to play? I suppose the singer would have to hit a start button to begin, huh?

Same reason you need a controller for the mic in the PS3 and 360 versions lol The instruments are locked in their player 1, 2, 3, 4 position and cannot control more than one player. Since the mic has no controls built in you have to use a controller.

I have not seen the box yet so thanks for this information.

On the other hand the PS3 box implies there are controllers that work with it other than the ones in the box, so have you actually tried this to see if it works?
