Ok We the gamer spend about 170$ for a game that is a F*****G nightmare.
The bass pedal Is junk the guitar is junk the drumset is junk.
I say this because my bass pedal broke the frist day I had the game. Then my guitar broke in one week and now my drum's are broke.
When I called about my bass pedal it was 2 weeks before I got a new one. My guitar was about 8 days before I got it. And now I dont know when my drumset will get to me.
When I called EA now that my drum's are broke the guy was a real D******D.
WTF.....EA needs to do some product development. This is just ridiculous.
I would think that a company that is big like EA would do something to make up for this.
What do I have to do to return this? I would like my money back....Thank god for guitar hero.

You should change the phrase " we the gamer" to " I" because not everyone has had the same unfortunate experiences as you.

I don't know. It's been a month and this game has logged a lot of playing time. Well, except for the microphone. That only gets used about once a week.
I think I'm pretty much in the clear.
Again, that's too bad about customer service. I used to do that a couple years ago when I started college. It really depends on who you get and when you get them.
8 days isn't all that bad on a guitar. At least they are replacing them all free of charge.

I really feel sorry for EA that they have to deal with people like you. There is no possible way that all of your equipment breaking is entirely EA's fault. My personal guess is that your drums (not the pedal) broke because you were abusing them.
The fact that you are extremely impatient in waiting for your new equipment, is not EA's fault. My guitar took two weeks to get here, but was I on the forums after a day going "WTF WHERE IS MY GUTIAR!?!?!!?" No. Reasonable people understand that nobody is perfect, and that EA has more people to deal with than you individually. Go cry in a corner, and don't blame EA for your personality issues.

I was ok with the wait the 1st time and the 2nd time but when you pay 170$ for something it should not be a pice of S**T and brake in less then a month. I dont use the mic but I bet if I did it would be broke in just short a time. Like I said EA needs to to some product development.

My bass pedal works after I had to mod it. And now I use my GH3 guitar because my rock band replacement guitar does not work right.

Same here I am using my GH3 GIBSON guitar cause the FENDER that I got with ROCK BAND is JUNK!!!! oh and im on my 3rd replacement guitar.....just gave up gonna use the LES PAUL from now on.

I just think I should not have to fix something that I pay 160$ for thats all. Why should I have to use a GH3 guitar when I payed for a rock band one? And why should I have to mod my bass pedal that I payed for?
I would love to play the game but I can not if every thing is broke. It is called rock band.. Not rock guitar are rock drums are rock mic.
The point of the game is ROCK BAND.... To play with more then one person. But how can I when I have to wait for replacements.

I don't get how you can break the pedal so fast, unless you are really going to town on the bass. As long as you have rhythm it shouldn't be hard to calculate the beat before hand and adjust your pressure on hits. It's hard to explain, but it's kind of like dancing.
they aren't real drums, so you should treat them that way.

Go play the hardest songs on difficult/expert and get back to us on that.
Of course if you barely have the coordination to muster MEdium the pedal will be fine, But when you have to do 1/8th notes on the bass pedal its not as easy as you think.
Of course any real drummer would never design the pedal as it is.
It is technically flawed by design. Regardless of the "Toy not real" aspect. If you played this game on the drums using hard/expert it is only a very short matter of time until the plastic snaps.
Or just 1 heavy footed friend that comes over and wants to play the drums.
It shouldn't break so easily regardless.
Please stop making exscuses for poor design.

OK, my statement is about how you push on the pedal. I'm commenting on how hard people push down their pedals. By what you're saying, you are stating that the game's difficulty is breaking the pedal. Which it's not. I do play on expert, my pedal works like a charm, and I know how much pressure to put on it.
My point being, if its something weak, go easy on it.
It may be a flawed design, but you compensate in that situation.
Or expect a lot of broken equipment.

He didnt mean the games difficulty breaks the pedal. its the notes that come with the difficulty. when your playing the harder songs on hard/expert the bass pedal gets a lot of use. When your expected to play the bass pedal very fast, you cant lightly tap it. I quote a supervisor from EA when i say "Its a bass pedal, your supposed to step on it, they break"

Exactly!!!!1 my guitar took 10 days. I just practiced on the drums. ive been playin the drums basically nonstop since it came out and my foot pedal is fine. u dont have to smash ur foot on it for it to register. the equipment doesnt have to be beatin, just a soft touch is needed. DONT BEAT UR SHYT!!!

How is that any different that what he said?
Game difficulty = Notes...
Another point, they aren't real instruments! So don't expect it to withstand hard slams as well as their real counterparts.
Apparently not breaking your pedal means you're a bad player that should learn to play on "expert". Well I say an expert wouldn't need to exert himself to to point where slamming down the pedal would be a factor. get real you brutes.

i play on expert and have played on 6 different friends sets and haven't broken a pedal, it is the way people are playing that breaks them, there's even a youtube video of a guy using a alloy pedal and playing and he's slamming his body weight into the pedal, only part of his foot on the pedal is his toes and they are at the very top of the pedal, any pedal will break playing that way

:eek:Although, sorry that you had a rough time, give us a break. EA has been awesome throughout the whole launch. Most people have a complete working set. As for the bass pedal I let my four year old bang on it, and no problems. I can play thorugh expert no problem, and no broken pedal. Quit acting like monkies on it, and you should be fine....
As for GH have fun with that since it seems your maturity level will fit in nicely on their forums....

I bet most of the people breaking their foot pedal are playing it heel up and stomping on the pedal. I'm only on Hard drums but the drums have gotten 6x as much use as the guitar and my foot pedal is still working.

i've never had any problems myself(although i don't like the guitar, but use it for fingerpicking bass which works better than anything else), but i understand why you would be mad. however, you can't expect to get a product on the day it comes out and have it 100%. harmonix did a great job putting out their product, however, there were some unforseen problems, and fortunately for you, they are willing to fix that free of charge. by spring time, these problems should have gone away in the new bundles.

I agree with you.
And I play expert drums. A lot. Still no broken pedal. Either I am very very lucky because God has graced me with a decent pedal, or the one's that are breaking are just poorly built.
Get your replacement and be done with it.
And I don't know why the game sucks because of your misfortune. Why does EA suck if they send you new equipment FOR FREE?

Give it up already. Its simple business facts. Sorry but its not our job to make EA and their customer reps feel good happy, its the other way around. This product has serious problems.
My drum was broken right out of the box. I didn't even play a single note before it was broken. The thing wouldn't even connect.
So instead of kissing ass and being an EA fanboy, look around you and realize whats going on.

Yeah but that's Spring time.
And yes, especially with a $170 price tag because some of us don't have a ton of money to throw around, things should have worked right 100% out of the box. There is no excuse for controllers not working rght out of the box and getting stuck waiting 2 weeks for a replacement.

I think the topic of this post should be changed from "EA And this game suck" to "EA sucks for the rushed launch and faulty hardware but we all can agree that if things were 100% working out of the box we would all be too busy playing and having fun with the game than posting complaints on forums."
Its a little long but you get the point, EA screwed up big time by the compromises made to launch before X-mas but if this game came out working flawlessy, we would all be having one hell of a time playing. This game rocks but its come across some serious malfunctions. I can't think of any other game that could have this many problems and still have so many people continue to play and work so hard to get working controllers.

You are right. I should say sorry. This game is good when I can play it.
EA did drop the ball. It makes me mad when I pay 160$ for a game and I have so many problems with. Yes EA is replacing defective products. I think they should I mean I payed for woking products...Not defective products.
And I can not afford to have 125$ hold on my credit card evry time I need to send back a defective products. Example If you have 3 defective products that you are sending back thats 375$ on your credit card. And that suck. I use my credit card to pay bills and what not. I can not afford to have holds on my credit card.

It's a piss poor ratio of initial investment to warranty. If you spend 170 on a video game, you shouldn't have to have 125-375 in credit card holds. That can up to almost 4 times the initial investment. When I buy a car and have to get warranty work, I should not be expected to fork over a dime, or let them hold 1-4 times the price of the car.
I have to say EA does suck, and I'm not complaining about the guitar pedal. Communication is horrible. I am waiting on my 3rd guitar and I've spoken with managers at least twice. I am somewhat okay with having a defective guitar (Upstrum, not downstrum issues like most) but to have them send me a model with the same part number, which was chipped/scratched and having even worse upstrum issues while they hang on to my 125 bucks is ridiculous. Right now I'm out 250 on credit card hold on a 170 dollar video game due to their incompetence in the warranty department.

Oh, the irony.
Oh and my sentence is fine.
And the problem here is in EA automatically assuming we are going to rob them. They treat their customers like potential robbers. I had to exchange a $2000 projector with www.amazon.com and they didn't put a hold on my credit. And I didn't have to ship the old one back first either.

Ugh, I can't believe how many of you are in here as apologists for faulty equipment. Can anybody cite me a passage from the user manual that describes the particular way you need to use the pedal so that it won't break?
If you can find a way 'around' the faults, that's great for you, but it doesn't excuse the fact that they are there. I don't wail on my equipment (even when the Rockband manual explicitly prompts you to).
I don't have a bad attitude about it: I'm optimistic that I will get a fully functioning set of gear. I think EA has treated me really well in the consumer ed department (sorry for your experiences, OP) and my first replacement, though defunct as well, arrived in 2 days as promised.
I accept the situation as it is, but those of you who come in here and try to pretend that there is no problem at all, that the multitudes of us with bad gear must be going HULK SMASH are misinformed. There is a reason that my Les Paul, for example, works perfectly fine after nearly two months but my strat broke in an hour. It's not like when I pick up the Strat I start strumming it with a ball peen hammer.

Actually, I believe nobody has owned up to making the equipment. :)

there were some unforseen problems, and fortunately for you, they are willing to fix that free of charge. by spring time, these problems should have gone away in the new bundles.
Except they weren't unforeseen - are you really that naive to think they had no idea that the guitars would fail in a day? If they can't get it right until Spring, they should have waited until Spring to release it. EA sucks because they, clearly, gave HMX no choice but to put the game out by Christmas so that they would have $65 million dollars in their quarterly statement to their investors.

I agree with the first half of your post but are you really that naive to think HMX had no idea the guitars were junk?
From your post I assume HMX hasn't made any money from Rock Band sales.
