View Full Version : Online World Tour- c'mon, announce SOMETHING...

What in the hell is with them not saying anything about World Tour mode online? A good while back, I read in an interview that they were definitely going to patch it in later. Then I read online that they might not be. I just want some confirmation, because I don't know why it wouldn't be in the game anyway- I mean, Band Quickplay is basically the same damn thing, but without the cool customization bits and the ability to get the achievements and whatnot.
I mean, c'mon. It's been long enough. Even if they just say "no, we're not doing it" or "yeah, we're working on it" or something, just say anything. Anything. Please. Christ.
I love the game, I love Harmonix, I'm not trying to slam the game in any way, but this is driving me CRAZY, because I love playing online but I hate not getting the in-game benefits for what we're doing.

Which interview was this? Because I've never heard or seen it and I think I've watched/read 'em all.

I say enjoy the game as it is now and if we get online BWT in the future consider it a bonus.
I think Harmonix/MTV/EA are rightfully focusing on getting the game distributed outside the US and all the hardware kinks worked out first. They also are cranking out the DLC. Once Christmas has come and gone they'll be in a much better position to see the future of Rock Band - if the DLC market is growing even after the game stops flying off the shelves you figure they'll patch the game to expand it a bit and online BWT would be tops on that list. If the DLC market dries up then they'll probably focus on a sequel where those features would be added.
Don't forget they're also working on a major upgrade to the website and expanding the community features which presumably means that all your work online will have some kind of tangible reward that you can show off.

i would also like to see some confirmation on this, a date would prolly be asking fro 2 much but just tell us if it is being worked on still or if it has been scrapped

I'd rather they wait until they actually do have a date or concrete information about it going in. The reason being, coming out and saying that they're working on it would be great... For about three days. Then someone else is going to come along and want to know when. Sean has already indicated he is providing all the information that's available, and that's going to have to be good enough.

They confirmed they aren't doing it for rock band 1.

They've already said that it's not happening any time soon. It may not even make it into the first iteration of the game. If you're waiting around for anymore confirmation that you've already gotten, you'll likely be waiting for a while, they've got bigger fish to fry.

They will put it in the next Rock Band not this unfortunately. A shame as well as all my mates won't wanna play RB as they think its embarrasing.

Its not the same as the leaderboards in game the bands get.
Also, in regards to the first bit
I can't really enjoy that whole part of the game as it is, how am I supposed to get my friend in syracuse and my friend in philly to fly up here and play with me? quickplay is fun but its by no means the same.
I mean, when my friends and I first got the game, we played from 4 till 1. World tour all together everyone sucking on the drums. And quickplay aint the same you know?
Its really a major disappointment, and I do remember an interview where they made it seem that you could do everything online and off or any combination thereof.
The games great, but damn, what a way to drop the ball. The hardware issues, the announced DLC, the lack of online band world tour. Great game, but its a real shame.
