Hello again - I sort of talked about this in a previous thread but here goes - since this isn't going to come out on the PS2, if I go ahead and buy a PS3, can I still use the Rock Band instruments I have for the PS2Rock Band games or will I have to get all new versions of those too? I'm hoping not but I think I already know what the answer is going to be

THANKS

You can use the same instruments - PS2 instruments work with the PS3.

If they're wired instruments, I think they will only work with a backward-compatible PS3. If they're wireless, you should be fine.

Honestly, you might have better luck asking at a PS3 forum.

backward-compatible PS3.

It only does everything, but backward-compatibility.

OK...I have a PS2. The instruments that I used to play RB1, can they be used to play RB2 and with the new GH5 coming out, I see they are saying you can play any kind of instrument or 5 guitars, does this mean that the instruments from RB can now be used to play GH5?

I know this may be dumb questions, but I wanted to make sure before I bought these games.

More accurately, there are no "PS2 instruments" for Rock Band. If you have RB controllers, they are PS3 controllers, which happen to work with the PS2 version of the game. If you still have the boxes they came in, check them out - you'll be surprised to see that they're listed as "PS3" even in the PS2 bundle.

Okay I have a PS3 with 4 ports, Two rock band one guitars, One Ion drum set, And three mics.
Currently I can have a full band in rock band 2. Perfect amount of ports.
But With TB:RB and I've been asking around no clear answers. But would I need to buy one new guitar or two in order to not buy the hub? Also i want the ion drums directly connected Because lag is rediculous compared with the guitars.

Just buy a USB hub. They're not very expensive. Far less than buying another guitar.

I'd wait til the 9th and see what you need. It won't take long to swing by a store and pick up a hub if you're in a city.
